I always took ragnar's facial expression as shock and amazement because he only slept with aslaug becaus of her so calles parents, he wanted his sons to be born of the legends that were her parents. But after hearing this he realized he never should have gotten with aslaug, all that he lost dealing with aslaug. Lost lagertha and bjorn. Lost his family from his actions with her and all for something he already had in bjorn.

The one marrying a daughter of a king I believe history wise is Sigurd snake in the eye, and Bjorn discovered and sailed around the sea with no tides, and for the others I don’t think he spoke anything to him but to Largatha that she will die by the hand of a son of Ragnar! I don’t know if that is accurate history wise but I know for sure that Sigurd snake in the eye wasn’t killed by his brother but married a daughter of a king and now to this day their blood line continues but within a different name I believe! Talking about actual history, Ragnar outshone all Norse and Dane alike. His sons were incredibly famous what boosted their fame was the title of Ragnarsson. His shadow loomed over everything they did and if that isn't the greatest legacy, I don't know what is.
