I left my abuser a year ago. Today my divorce has been finalized. I am giving myself to God to allow what is broken to be healed and whole. This has been weighing heavily on me, although I know God has seen what I went through and forgives me. Only He can teaching me how to be loved

Thank you for mentioning abuse. There are people who would disagree and that is terrifying.

If you’re in an abusive relationship/marriage, get out as soon as possible! Don’t stay in it or feel guilty about leaving.
Your safety is most important! Don’t let anyone guilt trip you into staying…it will only get worse
This includes emotional abuse💙🙏

I'm currently going through a divorce after 27 years. I don't want to be divorced, but my husband had been living a very dark life, full of sexual sin. Horrible sexual sin.. with multiple women. I prayed a very long time about this, but I believe the Lord opened my eyes and let me see clearly. Praise to the most High God, for rescuing me.❤

Amen! Thank you for speaking up about this and about the abusive marriages. It’s so heartbreaking that there are people out there who believe they have to stay in it because they don’t want to go to hell for divorcing their abusive spouse. I can’t imagine God ever wanting that for anyone or being ok with it. Thank you for being soft hearted and bold enough to act when women to open up to you about their abusive situation. Too many are ignored. I love you guys and praying for healing and comfort your sweet Jojo. 🙏

I’m so glad you cleared this up and according to the scriptures you mention that was completely accurate. I was in a physical and mental abusive marriage and I was out of order too 😖🤷🏼‍♀️honestly I had to really hear from God to give me instructions and after leaving 7 times and returning I kept hearing in the Spirit of God, “move.” I almost lost my mind. 3 years almost4 everything has changed and although now I have to go back and forth with my ex custody battle, engaged with twins to another man I’ve learned to truly obey God with relationships and marriage. Plus this is a generational curse I needed to break. 🙏🏼❤️ This is exactly how the Holy Spirit told me in scripture because for awhile I dealt with a lot of self-condemnation. 🤦‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
I literally had a “Mary Magdalene” moment with the Holy Spirit telling me, “go in sin no more!” Marriage is Honorable. We as people must obey his commands but the Word still gives provision in hard places🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼👑

I 💯 agree about leaving a marriage because of abuse.

Judging from this comment section, people need to start vetting their spouses more thoroughly.

I left my ex husband because I found out he was cheating on me before and during our marriage and even got her pregnant. Then he hit me and threatened to murder me and my entire family when I wanted to leave the marriage. I have forgiven him since but it took a long time.

If a man has emotionally abandoned his wife and is no longer interested in being married to her, sleeps in the lounge encourages her to commit adultery, but still provides food and shelter, is that grounds for divorce?

My husband has been verbally abusive and has abused drugs and alcohol time and time again. There has been so much I’ve endured from him and he’s watched porn throughout our marriage. God actually showed it to me one time. Wow it was sickening and hurtful to my heart. I’ve left him twice with him not changing. I want to divorce him because I’m tired of going through this time and time again. It was making me physically sick. I know sitting before The Lord is what I need to do. But I hope He tells me it’s ok to run. I can’t take it. Verbal abuse is just as bad as physical. It hurts to the core.

Yes the Lord gave me permission to leave because of abuse.

For an abusive spouse, the word calls us to separate. It does not call for us to divorce.

I think separation and divorce are different….

On your opinion; one may leave the abuse relationship but still bound in marriage

How do you feel about preaching with pastors who are on their 2nd and 3rd wives? Don't you feel that will hinder your ministry?

This is good. It’s not really taught in the church. If your “ex” spouse is still alive, and you remarry someone else, you are living in adultery.
