If you do this method, leverage against the weak point of the lock, which is usually the shackle. It's gonna be much easier.

try it with a lock that's not from a dollar store and keep your fingers out from between the wrenches if you don't want a broken finger.

Lockpicking Lawyer went over this, it's WAY better to use one as a raised flat surface and use the other vertically, pushing the shackle upwards. Most inexpensive locks will break at the thin part of the shackle (around the locking mech), or the locking mechanism inside will shatter.

now that padlock. is it a padlock or an accesory? looks more like the latter to me. yes you can break that kind of padlock open like that but the smaller ons only. been there done that got that t-shirt. and it ussually takes about 3 tries to break open even if you have fairly strong and big hands. i have small hands so i used both and all of my power to do it. no shame in admitting that

If you want to know how not to break your lock every time you loose the keys then hit the lock on the skinny side that the bottom of the key is on the lock should open
