Great tips. I do some of them!

Don’t feel bad, I have no social life either. I just moved to a different state to live with my best friend. So her husbands family are the only ones I converse with.

I’m a fast reader as well. I do have to take breaks because reading too much gives me headaches. I think the last time I read a huge book past 600 pages it took me two days.

One thing I want to mention to others watching, don’t stress out too much if you don’t think you’re reading enough to keep up with others. We all have our reading paces and preferences. The important thing is to enjoy your time reading. Making time for reading is obviously the biggest “trick” to reading more. Also, don’t force yourself to finish a book that you’re not enjoying. This rarely happens to me, but if I’m about a quarter of the way into a book and I’m just not “feeling it”, I will stop and move on to another book. And one last thing, stretch out of your preferred genre once in a while! I am primarily a sci-fi/fantasy/mystery reader, but will try a romance (especially if recommended by this booktuber) or other genres to broaden my worldview a little.

I still remember the last video where you talked about how you read so fast and I’m still shook 😂 I’ve been loving audiobooks this year!

Hi. I am looking up these videos after I made a video called My Reading Habits. I wish I found these videos first. My Goodreads goal was 200, which I reset to 285 and now I am at 280 for 2018.

Not a huge fan of audiobooks either. They annoy me because I can read so much faster than I can listen. However, I don't mind them sometimes when I'm driving. I just listened to the Wall of Winnipeg ( like my 6th time reading it, first time on audiobook) from you tube the other day when I had an hour car ride. It was well done. ... On that note, YouTube has a lot of audiobooks uploaded to it.

I'm the exact same way with audio books. I've tried but I tune them out as background noise and then have to go back and reread the book! And nothing pulls me out of a romance novel faster than a female narrator trying to put a low rumble in her voice to read the male parts lol! Or vice versa, Nope just can't do it. But I agree with you that reading is reading, no matter what format.

When you say practice, do you mean you push yourself to read faster? Or you just naturally got there? Because I’m very much like you. I read all day but I’m a slow reader so that’s all day reading one 2-300 paged book.

I had to learn listening to audiobooks, first I did was listening and reading at the same time, after that It went much better, also speeding up was important for me, on the original 1.0 speed it just sounds too slow for me so I usually speed it up to 1.5 to 2.0. I only listen to romance and right now I can say sometimes I love listening more then reading. You have some great narrators in the romance genre. This year for the first time it seems I listened more then I read, thanks to the audible romance challenge. Right now I for instance am working myself through the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward on audio, and the fools’s Gold series by Susan Mallery. I can’t go without audiobooks anymore. Love them!

I want to be able to listen to audiobooks so I can do stuff while making progress on a book. BUT it just doesn't work for me either. I hear it but I'm not listening, if that makes sense... It would be really cool to read like 10-15 books a week but it's not gonna happen for me unfortunately.
