How often should you train ABS?

So i actually train abs once a week, but if you’re training them anymore than twice a week, you are completely wasting your time. Yes, your abs recover quickly and you can train them often, but it’s just not worth it. I know this because I used to train abs everyday, and they look exactly the same as they do when I train them once a week. That’s because the most important thing is obviously being in a calorie deficit, so just focus on that and you’ll be fine.

I hope that helps and subscribe for more lifting tips! #Gym #Shorts

They might look the same, but if you train them, you will have a strong core... and many of us just train them to feel the burn... I train them to become stronger...

this works if you're going for aesthetics and you've already developed them. If you want a strong core you should really be training them minimum 4 times a week. You should also play with adding external force for anti rotational and rotational training, not just sticking to bodyweight stuff.

Not all of us want pretty abs, some want a strong core and for that you should train more frequently to maximize gains

They look the same training once a week because you're maintaining the gains from when you did every day.

Its not only about being on calorie deficit that makes abs workout count, yes ofcourse for showing them off
But we should train abs focusing on core strength and stability and not just for display.

I'd love to see more shorts focusing on abdominal exercises, I find that I often suffer from back problems when I try to work my abdominals, and often I'll feel sore everywhere else but my abs, I really want to focus on my abs as that's my problem area.

"They are the same now then they were when I was doing more" there was a study showing professional rowers only needed 2 sessions a week to maintain their fitness. Maintenance is simply easier than building

Best way to train abs is to do heavy compound lifts and isolation exercises standing up and without a belt since the cores main function is stabilizing your body

"Training abs more than twice a week, you are completely wasting your time." Good to see the one-size-fits-all gimmick is alive and well.

Personally i train them 3 time a week but in super set with lombar bench, just 2 long series before working out, permit me to be solid while rowing and benching after that. I do it to keep some balance in muscle activation, but not to get them defined

For the looks 100% but for strength more than once a week.

The reason you train your core often is for endurance, not aesthetics. Better core endurance means better better spinal support and less back pain, especially if you're an active person. If the only activity you do is your designated strength training, then it probably won't matter. If you are an athlete that pushes their limits or you have a physical job, core endurance will go a long way in protecting your back, even more so than pure core strength.

I train them 3 times a week. I heard 2-3 times a week is more than enough

Arnold's advice is to do 200 crunches right after you get out of your bed in the morning
