Just bought this jacket partly based on this video. We seem to be the same height and body size so this video was extremely useful, many thanks. Went and tried it on and then ordered online for £152! Everywhere seems to be selling it for £199. Love that it's slightly more slim fitting than the Bedale, although both are lovely jackets. Great reviews.

Love the jacket. I own the navy blue & can verify rather than navy it is in fact midnight blue so it does pass as black unless you're in direct sunlight. A little lighter than the others & a tailored fit makes it better suited for urban use rather than the great outdoors.

I’m planning to buy my first Barbour soon, and I was able to try on 5 different models in an Orvis store yesterday. Very illuminating to be able to try them on! The sizing is not consistent across the models! (ie, I was a medium in some and large in others) And I left the store with the Ashby at the top of my list (I went in with the Ogston in mind). Now I’m wrestling with deciding between the Ashby and the Bedale.

Personally, I do not think there is any thing wrong with a Barbour not made in England. The quality control on Barbour products is solid and from my experience the finish is the same regardless of the provenance. The only reason to insist on a Made In England Barbour is to tell other people you have one. I am not saying that as a bad thing, but the QC is just that good. The other great British waxed cloth company, Belstaff, has most of their collection made in Romania, and they are able to command higher prices than Barbour.

How do you clean these jackets to get rid of odour? I know they can’t be machine washed. Also is rewaxing optional? I don't like the scent of look of wax.

Im very athletic and the 40 bedale looked like a 50kg bag of potatoes, so i. Had to go for the Ashby.... so i dont get your point

Hi thanks for video's. Is there any chance you could do a video of the ashby jacket with liner. Barbour recommend that you downsize with liner on ashby. I was just wondering what your opinion on that is. Cheers 👍🤔😁

I've recently tried an Ashby and a Bedale and it was so hard to choose between them. I liked the fit of the Ashby as I like a slim fitting jacket but it wasn't English made. The Bedale however was Made in England and it just felt better quality. Even the "Barbour Care" label was printed better. I sized down the Bedale (I'm a 40" chest but I bought a 36") and it fits quite well, almost slim fit, so I ended up sending the Ashby back. I hope I made the right decision! What are your thoughts on the two jackets compared Olaf?
