Day 5 - Deepen | MOVE - A 30 Day Yoga Journey

When we take time to deepen the relationship with our subtle body and breath, we are creating a sense of wholeness, of feeling complete, more true.

This can then lead to us feeling more confident and more capable of loving ourselves.

And that of course can have a beautiful ripple effect, a movement beyond ourselves.

So as we begin to add more vocabulary and depth through visualization and imagination remember,

How you move matters.

What does it mean to deepen your practice?

Something she said on day 2 that has stuck with me and really drives me to return every day: "The brain will give up before the body does."

"Your choice in how to end the practice..." Am I the only one who was like, "Wait, what...?" Lol
I feel like I was so enveloped in today's practice and that no time had passed at all.
Many thanks for such a beautiful flow today, Adriene. A true gift.
It's only been five days of practice for me, but I can already tell a difference in my movement on the mat - there's a new, but welcome, lightness and a gentleness that I hope I can find off the mat sometime soon, too.
Happy to be here w. you all <3

When Adriene spots the cardinals, she shows us how little moments of observation of nature can be pure joy.

I'm really impressed by myself! I'm fat, weak, and my overall stamina is just laughable. Downward dog is a challenge. But I'm noticing small changes, I can hold them a little longer, transition a little easier. So thank you for this, and I'm looking forward to the next five days!

I'm still recovering from Covid. I've not yet done any standing postures nor full chaturangas. I spend a lot of the class in child's pose or constructive rest. I'm learning to 'move' not how I did before getting ill, but in the way that suits my body in the moment. Thanks, Adriene 🌟

I love reading everyone’s comments. So happy to be practicing with everyone. Adriene is the best! Love the huge window 😀

I love how Adriene said “lots of love in” on the inhale and “lots of love out” on the exhale. So often I associate breathing out as releasing the negative from within me. But today I gained a spark of a new perspective or perhaps a reminder that I am ALL love. I’ve been really sad lately and I appreciated that little moment. 🙏 thank you

For anyone who's behind on the practice I just wanted to say, it's never too late. You can always choose to show up for yourself <3 Thank you Adriene, Namaste.

Today I felt such a wave of gratitude towards you, Adriene. I've been doing yoga with you for close to four years now and I'm still completely in awe of you and your work. The amount of love and care you put into the series every January (and always!), literally for free, just so people can have a better day and a better relationship with themselves... Thank you, thank you, thank you

After a hard day in the clinic, testing many patients, helping as much as possible, meeting until 8 PM and seeing my family healthy, I took my “me-time” to share with almost half a million people ( and my cat: Micha) to do day 5! To my surprise today is the first time I didn’t suffer and hate the dog pose and able to follow most of the poses with the breathing on time. I cannot believe I did it. I’m 51 and I have tried yoga many times without success. Adriene and community: my thank you! I felt the power of a great community doing this together! Namaste.

Can’t believe how sore I am already 😳 But pushing through and so happy after putting another new start to yoga off for so long that I’ve made it 4 days with no excuses! Now just gotta slide into day 5 like 🙌🏼🍾🥂

i was on the verge of an anxiety attack, but decided to “show up for myself”, when I started i was crying but I trusted the practice and slowly it all faded away, literally a yoga practice made it better, I’m on day 5, little behind schedule but I just wanted to say that u can do it ❤️ we’re all in this together, thank u Adriene, practicing from Chile here ;)

The way I laughed when you said "Look back at it.... that's inappropriate" haha I love your practice but I mostly love how authentic you are. I have so much fun joining you in the yoga journey.

I feel a little odd sharing this with everyone here. But this practice felt different for me. At the point when Adriene said something about going into yourself (when we did the pigeon pose I think) I just got a "spark" and saw/felt myself as a little girl. I started to cry. It was such an experience to find yourself inside you again.

I really do keep myself distracted with the outside world as much as possible. It has been my way of self soothing because of all my trauma and anxiety. Honestly just living in my body is really difficult at times, basically every day, and for some reason yoga seems to help. I don't understand the science behind it but I am doing my best to dedicate every day to yoga...with Adriene. I cant do yoga with any other person online lol

Thank you Adriene, you helped me find myself again and I have missed her. It was a small spark but I FELT it. It will definitely take time for me to heal and bring that child inside of me to the front, but I want her back in some form or another.

Last year I started off the year with Breath, then worked my way through Home and Dedicate throughout the rest of 2021. This year I want to focus on being more consistent with my yoga practice because I've found it's the biggest boost to my overall mental and physical well being. I'm loving Move so far and I especially appreciate how well Adriene gives verbal cues. After doing the other 30 day challenges, I'm finding I have to look at the screen less and less and I'm really "dropping in" to my sessions more and more. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making these wonderful practices available!

Day 5 - Well after feeling like a flowy yogi yesterday today I felt like I was made out of matchsticks. Humbled in this practice as everything felt stiff. I did do this after just waking up so maybe that's why 🤪🤪 Regardless I turned up and I did it and actually looking forward to tomorrow!
