Qu Custom Layers & Soft Keys:

The Custom Layer can have any combination of channel, FX and master strips assigned to its faders. This lets you arrange the faders you are using for your show into one layer, or use the Custom Layer to control your Digital Audio Workstation. It is accessed by pressing both layer keys together and extra space is provided on the mixer to label these.

To assign the strips, go to Setup / Control / Custom Layer. The screen presents an assignment button for each fader. Touch a button and then turn the screen Rotary to scroll through the available options. Use the Function key to quickly assign multiple strips in order.

Select Custom Layer Only if you want to lock out the two standard layers and let the operator work with just the Custom Layer.

Qu also features user-defined SoftKeys which can be assigned to different custom functions. To set these functions go to Setup / Control / SoftKeys, select a SoftKey, choose from the list of available functions and touch Apply to confirm.

Typical functions include tap tempo for delay effects, master control of Mute Groups, or scene navigation.

For example, Scene Recall Go recalls the Next Scene as shown in the toolbar. Set Auto Increment to advance to the next available scene after recall.
Similarly, Scene Store Current stores the current mixer settings to the Current Scene as shown in the toolbar.
In combination with the Scene Next and Scene Previous functions, these offer a quick way of navigating through your scene list without the need to open the Scenes screen.

How are all excellent videos and thank you very much for an important explanation, I have one that I occupy this table as an interface I have the daw Logic x. I have a question and I tried to balance my LR audio but even though I move the knob on the daw I do not hear changes in the audio either through headphones or through the monitors eg. If I have a track that balanced it to the left, the audio is lowered in level and even so it continues to be heard on the right, connect my headphones to the computer directly and if the balance works, you could help me. I will thank you all.

I have a QU24 and a QU-SB working as a combined input output on a MacBook Pro running Cubase Pro8. Is it possible to set up the QU24s custom layer so that the faders control the faders of the first 24 channels of the QU-SB? It looks like the QU24 custom layer outputs a single CC per slider(CC0 to CC24) but the faders need a mixture of 4 NRPN (MSB & LSB) messages per slider. I feel this should work but can't work out how to do it....A video on this would be great.
