Allen & Heath AB168 AudioRack

AB168 is a portable remote AudioRack, designed for use with the Allen & Heath Qu series digital mixers, and with the GLD digital mixing system.

Featuring 16 pristine mic preamps with Phantom Power indicators and 8 XLR line outs, AB168 runs on Allen & Heath's proprietary dSNAKE protocol.

Adding an AB168 to a Qu or GLD system allows the inputs and outputs to be positioned up to 120m from the mixer over a single Cat5 cable.

AB168s can be daisy chained for larger systems, and mixed and matched with the other AudioRacks in the range to create the perfect setup for any event.

With its sturdy construction and rubber bumpers, AB168 is made for life on the stage.

The AB weighs in at less than 5 kilos and features a sturdy carry handle, making it a convenient, super portable option for live sound and installation.

I have QU-SB. AB168 can be used to extend the channels available on the mixer from 16 to 32 channels or it only can be used to connect to those 16 channels available on the mixer from a different position, like the stage?

Is there an on-off switch? I noticed an AB168 plugged in on stage (with no inputs attached) and a blue light was still on.

which model of mixer console contains 12XLR with Transformer power supply and Single Manual delay...??? but not with SMPS power supply..

AllenandHeathUK Can the AB168 connect to the expander port of a GLD mixer itself, if for example i need more i/o in the mix position than the AR84 offers? Thanks!

Do want, but too rich for my blood. I understand the price tag is a little high due to the fact that there are Pre-amps and A/D converters on-board.  Hopefully the price tag comes down a bit on these because it would fit perfectly with my QU-16 setup.
