Allen & Heath Qu Series - dSNAKE & ME-1

Qu dSNAKE & ME-1:

Qu-16 and Qu-24 can work with remote audio by connecting over a single cable 'digital snake' to an Allen & Heath AR2412 or AR84 AudioRack. This provides a convenient alternative to the typical heavy analogue copper multicore. One cable carries multiple channels of audio in both directions together with remote control of the preamps.

dSNAKE inputs are mapped one-to-one to the Qu input channels. Go to the Processing screen, Preamp tab and press the Function key to choose either Local or remote input for each channel. The gain knob will turn yellow when using dSNAKE inputs and you will notice a Pad switch in the screen.

The dSNAKE tab in Setup / Output Patch presents the patching of the remote audio outputs. These duplicate the outputs on the mixer rear panel.

dSNAKE is also compatible with our ME Personal Mixing System. ME-1 mixers or the ME-U hub can be plugged into either the Qu dSNAKE port or the Monitor port on the AR2412 if you are using this.

The Monitor tab in Setup / Output Patch presents a map of the 40 Monitor channels sent to ME-1.

These can be chosen and grouped to ME-1 keys using the setup function available on the ME-1 mixer, and the keys can be named and stored locally.

Hey do you know if you can leave the mic or line inputs connected on the QU, and switch between the AR2412 inputs and the line inputs on the QU easily? I want to avoid patching cables constantly. Thanks

I'd like to buy the Qu-32 for our House of Worship, but then also buy the QU-24 for our video room so we can have an accurate mix for streaming and the other speakers in our building. Does the 32 have an output I can send to the 24?

Hello. Please I need to know if it is possible to connect 2 Qu16 to access the same AB168 via dSnake? So that the 2 Qu16 are able to receive the signal from the mics plugged in the AB168. Thanks in advance!!

Can you control the output of each channel to the ME-1? Say the band wasn't hearing the vocals well enough, is there a way to send more signal or is it only through the gain staging?

Could some please explain to me how exactly I connect and get working monitors? I have two powered monitors that I am connecting XLR ... but Im getting no sound.. ! I'm not even really sure where to plug them into the back of the board ..lol ...I;m assuming Mix output, so In order to get sound to my monitors do I have to go through the entire D snake/ set up process wow! ? Could someone please help or maybe provide a tech support number ? Thanks ... I really need to get working need monitors soon with this .. thanks you.!
