Three Suits Every Man Needs

I feel like the first suit color you should get is obvious. But actually, it's not! A lot of our customers who need a first suit always ask for black, but that doesn't make a great first suit -- it can look overly formal and severely limits your options for mixing and matching shirts. I have a much better option for you.

Over approximately 20 years of wearing suits, I have come to own several. I wear my brown suits almost exclusively now—one in fresco, one glen plaid with blues, and one with subtle lilac pinstripes. I occasionally wear my navy suit. I never wear grey.

My first three custom made suits were a dark green, a brick red and a pastel pink. I'm so happy I didn't go for conventional colors, All his recommendations are very safe choices, but sometimes it's so much fun to go bold. If you go bold make sure to get tailor made clothes because people are going to pay more attention to you, so you have to make sure it's perfect and not an eyesore.

Great video Justin, and congrats on the new store opening! I think as men enter into the suiting world, they naturally gravitate to that progression of navy to charcoal/grey. I like your take on the brown suit, I mean with those three colors of suits you really have all your bases covered. Thanks also for including fabric specifications, I think that really helps beginners like me accustom myself to the lingo of fabrics. Would love to see something about what order you should get things in. Commissioning things is such a journey sometimes, so how do you decide what to get next?

The color brown is nice for suiting. I appreciate the two options shown; dark brown flannel and dark brown linen. Brown suits can easily be broken down into suit separates. Another nice video. Thanks
