Get your holiday decorations at thrift stores and then donate them back when you're done. Get new ones at thrift stores the following year. If people would stop buying all this cheap junk, they would stop producing so much of it. No one needs another sign from Target that says "Gather" or "It's Fall, Y'all." You can get high quality vintage decorations at thrift stores for next to nothing. They might actually have some value, unlike the cheap mass-produced garbage. You can also find brand-new or barely used things for pennies.

Good luck to those out there buying houses right now! Seeing current sale prices in my neighborhood blows my mind compared to when I bought my house.

The single most thing that has saved us thousands is Utube! Learned and completed Changing car battery, replacing toilet handle, changing washer drain filter, replacing shower faucet stems and seats, changing our car engine and cabin filters, changing 3rd brake light/car door/interior bulbs, installing/setting up new washer dryer to avoid install costs by delivery drivers. and second is our home warranty! So many things have been fixed and replaced.. so worth having to save big bucks!

I would like to add number 136… Switch to a bank that does not charge you every little thing. We have been dealing with the bank here in Canada for the last 20 years and they are very little fees. We get free checks we get free use of the debit card… It is great.❤

The way I see this video as just going back to the basics of life. I was raised in the 60’s-70’s from parents who left parts of Europe before the war. We had money but that didn’t influence the way we lived. Homemade everything from food to fixing broken items and DYI. life isn’t complicated! ❣️

I downsized from my huge house - first time I’ve ever totally owned my own home with no mortgage. The freedom it brings is priceless let me tell ya!

Our daughter went to community College and then transferred to the university. She says she got a better education at the community College. Also, hubby has always taken his lunch. He still goes out to lunch with his friends, but he brings his lunch from home and eats with them.

School counselor here: I highly recommend concurrent enrollment over AP classes! So often students do not pass the AP exam and then do not meet the requirements for college credits. Also, make sure the college classes you are taking will transfer over to the college you are interested in 😂

We LOVE family movie nights in this house. My kids have only been to movie theater once and a drive in once. We are always doing it at home. We get in our pjs with snacks and dinner and we hang out and watch the movie of choice. I personally prefer this way for MANY reasons.

Costco is no longer letting people without a membership use the Costco cash cards. You will need to either have your friend buy the things you want for you, and pay them back, or go in with them and hope the cashier lets them do two transactions (some warehouses are SUPER strict on this if the person isn't an Executive or Business member (who will always be allowed 2 transactions).

Agree about pets. Have always had them - poodles, a Yorkie, but for sure they’re not cheap and they are NOT disposable! If you’re not absolutely willing to make a lifetime commitment to them, do NOT get one PLEASE!

The "add to cart" button is fun, but you're absolutely correct about leaving it in your cart for a while. That impulse spending just goes away!

I've lived frugally for decades now and I still love watching these videos for tips. We recently redid the windows in the living room with blackout curtains (that don't look like them or have the weight they used to) and when that late afternoon sun comes in, I close them and it cools the room so fast. Two things to add: you can get inexpensive term life insurance if you are a member of a credit union and contact your electric company and see if they have budget/levelized billing where your electric bill is the same amount every month.

Frugal Fit Mom, I used to do my Christmas Shopping after Christmas for the next Year. What I am saying is at the end of January and February when items were 85 to 90 % off sales. Then I would go home and wrap the items. I saved Thousands, REALLY. I have never gone and had my Nails or toes done, I even cut my own hair in addition to my Son's and husband's and anyone else who wanted one. I could count every cent I had. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE watching your videos. PLEASE keep them coming. OH YES I ABSOLUTELY LOVE COFFEE BUT I ALWAYS MAKE IT AT HOME AND BRING IT WITH ME. I do need to get a Cell Phone because that is one thing I need. God Bless you and keep you safe and HEALTHY. Joanne

Started cutting hubby's hair last year when the guy we went to raised his prices. Best decision ever.
