That hug between them is why I also love Jaime as a character. He is the only Lannister to ever show him love (Apart from his favorite Uncle Gerion), and that love for each other is genuine.

The hug was good, but also Jaime’s quip of “Is that any way to speak about our mother.”

Even though he’s joking, he still acknowledges how his mother was also Tyrion’s, even though his birth caused her death and Tyrion never got to know her. Shows both his own love for his mother and appreciation that Tyrion was her son and his own brother, while Tywin and Cersei showed him contempt for causing her death.

Jaime has undoubtedly got the best story in this series. Arya changed her fighting skills, sansa and daenerys changed their attitude, bran changed his way of living his life, tyrion adapted himself for discrimination and being treated like an animal but later he changed that fate too but jaime or theon are the only charactors which changed the human inside them. They were diffrent at the begining and became something else at the end. They deserve respect.
