Just remember guys you are not meant to fit the labels, the labels are meant to fit YOU.

I think that we should all just think "is it harming anyone else? " "Is the person happy? " And if the answers are no and yes respectively, we ahould all just move on with our lives

The artist example is the dumbest one for me, gen Z really does pretend that fictional characters are real and real people are fictional, the fear and hunger character isn't gonna clap for you.

Chat ppl don’t realize that (as an aroace person) the aromantic and asexual identities are SPECTRUMS!!

“Words have meaning, but they also have history” is just a nice line/quote. There were a lot of great one-liners in this video, but this one stood out to me the most.

Love your videos E <3

As a fellow queer elder, here’s my advice to the youth: Be who you are. And let your peers be who they are. Unapologetically so. We are not our labels, we are individuals with our unique personhoods and do not cleanly fall into distinct categories. We survive and thrive when we are, well if not united, at least inclusive and supportive of each other and being a safe haven for everyone in our community. Divided, we fall victim to everyone who hate us and want to erase our rights and dignities. We must be here for each other - as cheesy and cliché as it sounds - and it all starts with acceptance and respect for each other’s lived experiences. Also don’t be a prick!

I just wish people weren't so obsessed with labels in general.

I always thought the "that's a made-up label" argument was stupid. All labels are made up.

I’m a big fan of “labels are tools not tests” you can call yourself whatever you want as long as it helps you communicate what you’re feeling

I am concerned about this generation, not just bc of the homophobia, but also racism and how they think its 'funny' to be rude or s3xually harass someone.

To me, as a queer person in Russia, this just seems like such a "first world" problem.
There are hundreds of millions of queer people in this world fighting for the right to simply exist. I think we should let people identify howewer the hell they want, and shift our attention to an actual problem, to those who struggle to survive on a daily basis. Instead of wasting time on humiliating queer teenagers on the internet, maybe people should use that time to spread awareness of the horrible things happening elsewhere in the world, outside of their tiny bubble.

Love your content, keep up the great work ❤🏳️‍🌈

as a queer, older gen alpha, always seeing 8 year olds say things like "straights are sigma!!!! gays beta!!" or something like that, is so annoying to me, because they clearly don't understand what the lgbtq+ people are. they see one post calling it cringe, and decide to call it the same without even understanding what it is.

God, this was a good reality check. I was never outwardly hateful towards people using unconventional labels but I didn’t understand it and had my own prejudices. But being reminded that labels are not rigid, with hard and true meanings and qualifications was very helpful. I do consider myself a good person, and it’s videos like this that help me to grow and expand my thinking; not give into the black and white thinking that the internet loves to perpetuate.

I just wanted to say thank you. I’ve known that I am bisexual for a while now, and only a handful of my close friends know it. I have a really hard time being okay with it (internalized homophobia directed towards myself, I’m working on it) and sometimes felt like I wasn’t queer “enough”, but watching this video really made me feel affirmed in a way nothing else has. I hope you read this, because I’d like you to know that this has really helped me :)

As a queer gen z, i HATE labels as a whole. When being gay was used as an insult for my whole life, no wonder i don't wanna use it. The other thing is, I'm still figuring out myself, so even though i technically am a gay man, i don't want to label myself as such, because I'm still not sure if I'm attracted to non-men.
The only label i vibe with is mlm, because basically no one knows what it means
EDIT: please do not engage with hateful comments, rather report them and try to ignore them.

I’ve seen this type of gatekeeping in the Deaf community too. To share my story, I need to add that I am Deaf but with Cochlear Implants to hear.

Last year, I took ASL at my community college for my foreign language requirement (btw, crazy that AMERICAN sign language is “foreign” in America lol). My professor is completely Deaf, without any hearing device (and very old). He sees Cochlear Implants as a “betrayal”, like changing your skin color.

Also, I don’t agree with some Deaf people not saying they are disabled. It’s a disability. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing. You lost a bodily function, and it’s ok to acknowledge that, even if it doesn’t put you at a disadvantage in your mind.

This shit happens in every community. I’m not surprised there’s this in the queer community too.

I lived in a SUPER conservative country. Many of our queer people use westerns standards to dictate LGBT "guideline" for local queers. From how we should act, label ourselves, and how our opinion should be for certain topics. The thing is, it won't work for most of us. These homophobes won't care if I'm pan, bi, or gay, they will call me a slur no matter what. I have more concern about how to hide my identity before even thinking how I should label myself

I like the art post where it was saying, "The girls are shaving!" and it showed two trans women shaving their facial hair in the morning.

ive also seen the sentiment that if ur a bi woman/man, and u date the opposite gender ur not bi anymore and become straight—and i hate it so much😭😭
