Whilst this circular cycle lane will assist the less confident cyclist to navigate this roundabout, the more experienced cyclist will take to the main carriageway and navigate the roundabout in less than half the time.

I believe I encountered that roundabout a number of years ago, in that format.
I was so confused by the layout (compared to the normal road systems in the area) and with the potential for mistakes and delays I just stayed in the main traffic lane.

Why should traffic lights favour cyclists? You have buses carrying anything upto 80 passengers keeping more vehicles off the roads the lights should favour them!

Dont see a problem only the same as other traffic having to wait at traffic lights . Only difference is if cars jump the lights chances are they will be prosecuted (rightly so).if cycles jump the lights they unidentifiable .
