Why Don't Cyclists Use Cycle Lanes?

Nothing more infuriating for a driver than to see a cyclist riding in the middle of the road when there is a perfectly good bike lane for them to use.... or is there?

Thats wy i love the way it works here in Denmark: roads (non private ones) is the responsibility of the council and if they neglect it they are liable for any and all damage that might occur and they can be fined (same goes for private roads but then its the road owners that're responsible). And in this scenario the cycle path is part of the road.

Same where I am, forced onto the road to avoid the ice. Council simply says they provide grit bins for pavements and cycle lanes for people to grit themselves (which is firstly no help and secondly not true).

Annoying for sure, but getting ahead of that huge queue in little more than a minute is a great advert for urban cycling . I bet it took drivers at least twenty minutes.

Seriously cyclists have to ignore drivers who say this (and the road tax rubbish) . They do it because they are narrow minded and ignorant because they want the roads to themselves . They don't even like motorbikes which are faster than anything on the road . We are getting more infrastructure and have already had the highway code changed . We just need to focus on getting bigger punishment for reckless driving .

In Britain, shamefully, cycle lanes are not maintained (or designed) well enough to encourage their use.

As a local im slightly baffled by you choosing to go via the A2199 and not Dulwich Wood Avenue, its a much more quieter street + just as direct as the A2199 and on that exact snow day it was completely fine to cycle on from my experience last month

Cyclist are just annoying AF. It's like being in a dance floor and having to watch out for toddlers.
