I can't "Just go around him", it's illegal for me to cycle on the pavement outside the bike lane. This guy however quite clearly deliberately refuses to move out of the bike lane and onto the adequate pavement space.

And people wonder why cyclists don't use the cycle lanes...

Pretty sure Stevie Wonder with an etch-a-sketch could have designed a better laid out path.

Hardly surprising there's pedestrians all over it tbh.

There is a minimum amount of cycle lanes on my commute . Some Chavy little rat had the audacity to give me lip for being in the road, the same Chavy rat then shouted at me for using the cycle way when it was available . Sometimes it feels like we are decked either way

[EDIT: Others have pointed out that he may well be deaf, which would explain the lack of reaction - I didn't notice, but he DOES move out of the bike lane, just at the very end of the video]

Sadly Edinburgh is not a friendly city for cyclists. Is far away from European cities, in Edinburgh there is not a cyclist culture, most cyclist dont respect traffic lights, there are not enough cycling lanes and the ones that are in the city are a joke . Hopefully this change in the future.
