I enjoy visiting supermarkets in foreign countries to give me a small taste of what the local residents experience and to see how they differ from what we experience at home.

7:44 That Organic White Peach and Nectarine body wash by Le Petit Marseillais is my favorite. I love the way it smells.

You can learn a lot about a culture by wandering through their grocery store. That was very interesting!

Diane, I always love watching your grocery store videos. In fact this is my favourite part about visiting a different country. We usually stay in airbnbs and go daily to the local grocery stores. Thank you

Wow, you gave me such a blast of nostalgia, especially with the apericubes (olive and blue cheese were my favourites as a kid a long, long time ago) and the whole yogurt and dairy desserts aisle (some time ago I had a craving for Marie Morin brand chocolate mousse and couldn’t satisfy it, it was bad lol). I miss French butter so much too — ah, having some beurre d’Échiré on a piece of baguette, perhaps with some real bilberry jam…

Two of my favorite grocery store products are Bonne Maman's semoule au lait vanille naturelle (vanilla semolina pudding) and vast array of chilled desserts such as mousse, flan and pot de creme in unusual flavors like fig, noisette or currant. Also love the frozen prepared seafood dishes that come in small ceramic ramekins with flavors such as Coquille St. Jacques. I still have a collection of those ramekins. We have nothing like these in the US!

We always have two types of butter in our fridge: regular salted for cooking and baking and the cristaux de sel (the one you showed) for tartines! Tasty! 😋

I work at a major supermarket chain in the Chicago area. I like seeing the similarities and differences between American stores and those in other parts of the world. I know most French grocery stores don’t have pharmacies or even over the counter medication. I like that most American stores also have carts like the one at 25:19. I’m shopping for myself so I find them handy, especially if I’m picking up stuff like canned goods, a gallon of milk or some pop which get heavy quick.

Bonjour. I love shopping in french supermarkets. We normally visit Paris in Nov and return with grocery store cookies for our holiday open house. People are always impressed as I snicker that they are very modestly priced cookies. But I would never serve "puffs" at a party. Another great video.

J'adore Lindt! My grandmother is Swiss, so we always have a good selection of Swiss chocolate around.

A raclette dinner is so fun. I have a raclette grill, a yummy little-prep dinner for sort of a community meal. It’s hard to find raclette cheese here in SoCal but a gruyere subs fine. I offer non traditional raw beef, salmon, instead of veal, and boiled potatoes, bread, tons of accoutrements like cornishons, cocktail onions, etc. A very unique and easy way to host a dinner for six, if you’ve got an inexpensive raclette grill and an outlet near your table!. And the stories to tell about the Swiss/French/Austrian/whoever mountain sheep or cattle Alpine wranglers melting their night cheese over a fire, they’re worth the price of the grill. Thanks Diane and happy holidays! 💃💐

Love to see the big grocery store's in France. In The Netherlands we have a lot of different grocery stores but much smaller. Nice to see the typical France products!

Counting the days till our next visit to France and this was a lovely warm up! You covered lots of our favourite products. Your UK fans might like to know that the Selection de Medailles cheese is available at M&S in the UK.

My go-to product is “Gervita”, plain fromage blanc with a top layer of unsweetened whipped cream. Being diabetic really limits me to the supermarket products I can have. I add stevia to it. Next to the Boursin is Tartare. I did a side-by-side taste test, and I like the garlic herb Tartare better than the Boursin one.

For a future supermarket video, may I suggest a focus on “bio” and “diététique” products. There are a lot of people who have dietary restrictions and that could be very helpful. I recently discovered the brands “Dukan” and “Gayelord Hauser”.

I've seen potato chips served for apéro very commonly... even in some bars
And in all honesty, I prefer Le Petit Marseillais shower gels (and especially their shower creams - Cadum is another brand I love) to any L'Occitane one I've ever tried
NO offense, but any French lower end butter is in another galaxy compared to standard US butter (I've lived in the US and am still shocked by I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, LOL)

Hello Diane! Thanks! 🙏 it's also interesting for me as a Greek to see that the same products that you can find also in Greece are cheaper in France and the salaries in Greece are a lot lower than France!😮

Amazed by the variety of foodstuffs from the brand Bonne Maman. I'm sure they would be popular here in NYC and other areas too.
