In my experience, there is nothing to worry about. They seem pretty chill actually. Papaya is just not used to her/his personal space getting violated obviously. Give them a day and they will be best buddies

LOL towards the end it looks like theyre playing. Theres no hissing, no arched backs and no puffy tails. Theyre just being silly kitties and soooo very cute.

My two cats are just like this and the issue has been ongoing since Nov, 2022 when we adopted a 6 month old kitten, which my 4 year old adult cat wasn’t receptive of his arrival at all. The thing is, the kitten has nonstop energy and could play for an eternity and it would never tire him out. Even if I were to play for an hour, it still isn’t enough. He always tries to playfully fight with the adult cat which causes her to run and hide. The older the kitten becomes, the less wild he is with the adult cat. After a year and a half, they’re not bad and they get along as long as the young cat leaves the older cat alone. We have to separate them at times daily but it is nothing like what it was a year ago. Still hoping they can coexist without ever having to separate them.

For those thinking about getting a kitten and you already have an adult cat, it seems that the best thing to do is adopt two kittens so they can entertain each other without harassing the adult cat.

Domestic cats usually play fight instead of seriously fight, and seriously fighting is more common with more territorial cats, so I'd say that Papaya and Banana are just bing chillin

She looks just like my kitten did a few months ago. Almost identical patterns. So tiny and floofy. So cute. I love her.

As long as it's the tiny kitten chasing the bigger one, you know they'll be okay. They're mostly play-fighting. That reminds me of the little injured SIC I found a year ago, teasing and chasing my senior and grumpy Persian. He was much more patient with her than me. Now they're the same size and they still have the same dynamics.
