Still with Tesla stock, investors can never be sure what will happen next, bearish periods ultimately establish a new set of stocks to buy and watch while setting the stage for a robust new uptrend. I have been reading articles of people that grossed profits up to $250k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?

Last night I ordered my first ever new car from Tesla, Model Y AWD. I have always settled and bought used cars my entire life, now I am going to get what I want. :) Not much out there can beat the 1.99% financing Tesla offers, so I pulled the trigger. Looks like about 10 days before I can go and get it, the anticipation is killing me. I have a detached garage about 75' away from my house electric service and I will need to trench and bury a line and install a breaker for the level 2 charger. So at least that will keep me busy until I get my new wheels.

I actually discovered the same thing in May/June and was able to purchase my First Tesla, a 2021 Model 3 with 26k miles on it. It was $24900 which after the tax credit was $20900. I love this car more than any other car I have drove. I used to private drive some business people in 100k+ cars and while those have some very unique luxury features, the drive and experience isn't as nice as this Tesla, I love the minimalism of the design, while friends who have seen it say they want more buttons. Usually after they take a ride or two they change their mind on that opinion.

Don't forget that the $4000 tax credit for EVs has an income cap significantly lower than the $7500 credit available on new cars. For individual filers, your income cannot exceed $75k while married folks can have an income up to $150k. This is in contrast to the limits of $150k and $300k respectively for the $7500 credit.

Glad rivian changed their mind on what side to put the charge port on

I bought my Plaid...not because of ELON...but because of the CAR and the TECH. I use FSD 90% of the time. DO I get Pissed at some of the bonehead moves...YES...But overall, it makes my driving in traffic an amazingly "pleasant" experience!! Granted everyone hates traffic...the FSD makes it very bearable.
I disagree with Mars and his tossing himself out there on X...however, the companies speak for themselves. This is the BEST CAR/VEHICLE tech, I've ever owned...matching or going beyond my iphone...

oh yea...did I mention performance!! On the track the car is a beast...

Is it really growing for legacy OEM? They just ship to dealers and record them as sales. Meanwhile every dealership nearby is having issues moving units and you'll see so many on lots. See new Tesla's on the road daily now.

The biggest challenge is that Tesla usually prices their used cars more than the same car from 3rd party dealers but it's very cumbersome to figure out which dealer can take the 4k used car credit

As a person that does Uber, if you really think Tesla owners would let Tesla use their car for a taxi. Most will not do so. If they can get working which it's an if they will be surprised with the commercial insurance and Tesla cut of all the trip, the owner would get much of nothing on these trip. Plus with the damage and the mess that passenger will leave there is no real reason to buy a Tesla for this. 6:29

30+% of Tesla's were sold in California. So a new model 3 with federal and state tax credits cost $30, 000 new. So $25k for a used one is unbelievably high priced. That doesn't sound like high depreciation to me.

Got my used 2022 tesla model 3 for around 20k after the tax credit!
We were shopping for cars and it was either a new SUV for 30k+ or a used car like a 2021 volkwagon golf for 19k. There was very little inventory. I got fed up and took the risk on a used tesla. So far it has been a really great decision!!

Recently bought a used 64k miles 2022 M3 LR (with FSD!) for $23K out the door (after tax credit, taxes and fees). My first EV. Right now used is definitely the way to go for those trying to get into an EV.

Those examples are really good deals. I bought a 2017 Tesla Model S 75D (lots of options) with 75k miles back in Feb, just snuck under the tax credit. At the time, the M3’s that qualified were base 2018’s with 80k+. Similar 2020 or 2021 M3s were still $30-35K. That’s a huge drop in just a few months.

Info is misleading. That used $4000 EV tax credit only applies to cars built within the last 2 years.

Why would you guys buy used and think it’s a good deal when new has 7500 off + state $$ off + 1.99% apr, it’s a far better deal not to mention you get a new car / battery…and hw4 which by now is obvious significantly better to support the latest fsd. Even if you don’t use fsd now, in 2 years when it’s usable you would have the hw to leverage it….it just makes no sense to buy used Tesla when new has such good deals

I really hope the 2025 Model Y refresh will be the best vehicle released by Tesla. Hoping for nearly flawless assembly similar to the current 3, with even greater tech. And if they can get the 800v/ low 48v system perfectly dialed in, it would be the best of the best.

I actually saw those 2 used EV listings you mentioned in NJ a couple days ago and passed up on them, but this morning I was browsing again Tesla used EV postings and saw a 2021 SR+ RWD with 28k miles for $21k after the used EV tax credit. I grabbed it right away. It was black with the 19’ premium wheels with a bit over 2 years of bumper-to-bumper warranty and about 5 years of main battery warranty left on it.

Seems like an oversight by Tesla. But there’s so many used EV Tesla sales on their site for 25, 100. So it doesn’t qualify for the credit.

The fact that there are so many model 3's clustered at just a few hundred dollars over $25k (in CA at least!) is clear proof that Tesla is deliberately excluding these from the tax credit. They could easily sacrifice a couple of hundred dollars in order to give their customer this huge percentage benefit. They must be trying to prevent the used market from impacting their new sales (maybe during this current slow-down that is hitting their margins and stock price)
