P.S.
1. I used the word "studying" a lot in Key 1, but I really mean doing things that are good for you / building your human capital. This can mean recharging yourself instead of going out when you actually don't want to. This can also mean improving in new skills rather than being like peers who spend their free time scrolling. A social life doesn't mean you have to be with friends every moment - you define what you prioritize and enjoy.

2. I couldn't think of a word that encapsulates this kind of activity (someone let me know in the comments if you have an idea) so I just said organized "sports". But it doesn't have to be sports specifically! It can be marching band or any other team extracurricular where you train on a daily basis and push yourself mentally and physically at the same time. It's great for long-term valuing of your health and fitness too!

Can we just appreciate everything this wonderful individual does for us? The fact that she's spent months creating A FREE video to help teens as well as juggling a very busy academic life is truly inspirational. Thanks Amy!

Henlo, I'm 14 yrs old, going into high school this year in a week. The meltdowns and panic I've felt had been more frequent than I would prefer. And the funny thing is I always blame it on myself, saying that my procrastination is hurting me. And in truth it is, I have no excuse for being a failure, for being average when I know I can be so much better. Watching this video, I hope I can change everything, that I can be a new person who truly wants something good for themselves. In school, everywhere I look I see people running in a race, in a competition to get higher and better than everyone else when really all I need is to be the best I can be. I hope it will work, that I'll change somehow. With hard work but I make no promises. I hope in a few months time I can return to this place and write of my success. Only time will tell.

Signed : A Lost Soul

Edit#1: Henlo, this is entry 2 of my personal journey. Only yesterday was my first day of school, when I woke up it felt like my heart had frozen overnight and was left in the darkest abyss, light could not reach it, my doubts had clouded too much… I forced myself off the bed and fast forward onto the bus. On the bus, I suppose my luck had finally changed as someone I knew was there saving me the trouble and embarrassment of finding a seat, usually I’d sit alone with ny thoughts swarming around my head but a change felt nice. But still, talking seemed draining and I wasn’t sure where to begin, but taking a deep breath, I told her what I felt about the first day, how I was scared and felt so small… I didn’t know how she’d react but after listening she broke too and told me what I’d told her. I guess I wasn’t the only one who was beyond nervous… We started talking about things beyond school and some may wonder “How did I just start talking when I’m such an introvert?” Well what I usually try to do is channel that extroverted energy I have when I’m in a group of friends who appreciate and accept me, that feeling of being the loud crazy self I am inside felt fulfulling, it felr good to laugh weird and make cringe jokes because thats who I am. So despite being terrified, I took a deep breath and shoved my extroverted side out the door, imagining I was just talking to another friend. And the rest of the day I continued to do the same thing, and in each class I found people responded well to me being myself at core, even those in grades higher than me! After the day I felt exhausted and I immediately thought the day had gone miserably due to my doubts about friends, and future, and academics. But when I sat down with myself and looked up at the sky, I recounted all the experiences of the day, and somewhere inside I felt like something had gone well. And today I continued to channel my true self when I found appropriate, when talking to new people and teachers, and while my hands still shook and my heart jumped up and down, when I was my positive self, telling myself I can do this it made things change. Truly having the right mindset changed a lot, Ive seen plenty of back to school videos that tell you about mindset but often I get confused, “Ok I understand but how am I supposed to change in myself?” Well what worked for me was channeling my best self, not the person who OTHERS thought was amazing but the person I thought was amazing, and that was the person who took regular classes so she wouldn’t be overwhelmed and be happy instead, that was the girl who showed everyone her extroverted side because she wanted to make others feel welcomed and feel appreciated like I had when someone talked to me. After knowing who I wanted to be I always made sure to think, is this happiest version of me? And if it were I would take that person and put her forward, pushing my quieter side that I appreciated but wanted to change towards the back seat. And guys if I’m being honest, I didn’t expect anyone to respond to my comment or even see it, I wrote it one day thinking that I have to say something, perhaps it will help someone else… and now it kind of has! So I apologize if my words seem all over the place because when it cones to new experiences I’m still finding myself, but I hope my experiences still assist someone and I’ll try my best to respond here every so often, ngl I feel a bit of pressure now 😅 hehe

Finally fitting in the age!!! 🧡✨

1 stop trying to fit in the "cool" Factor that is set by others, make a shift of your mindset and reframe your own kind of cool!
2 playing organized sports
If not sports engage in something outside of school that requires commitment from your side
3 soft skills( communication, patience, persuasion, etc) >>>>Hard skills (math, coding, etc)
4 Don't do extra self improvement, like don't overthink too much in this topic just following the things mentioned in the video could help alot in the long run!

Ps: its cool to hear that you are confident about the application, Go girl! 💅

This video was so convenient for me since I’m 13 about to turn 14. I’ve been struggling with these things especially extra self improvement, but this video taught me a more efficient way to go about this so that I excel as a teen such as prioritizing, studying, learning important skills, and to be more formidable instead of letting my development go to waste. It’s so nice to have someone so successful giving advice on things many people have problems with. With that said I love you and your videos and I wish you the best for your future with you and your content. :D⭐️!!!

Being in a organized team is really sooo lifechanging! I'm in a stage-acting group and it not only turned my life, but me as a person around for the better.
Acting helped me gain confidence and discover my love for dancing. My group even got praise by a known actor in my area!
