THE STUDY

Extra‐virgin olive oil ameliorates cognition and neuropathology of the 3xTg mice: role of autophagy

Triple transgenic mice (3xTg) received either regular chow or a chow diet supplemented with EVOO starting at 6 months of age for 6 months, then assessed for the effect of the diet on the AD‐like neuropathology and behavioral changes. Compared with controls, mice receiving the EVOO‐rich diet had an amelioration of their behavioral deficits, and a significant increase in the steady state levels of synaptophysin, a protein marker of synaptic integrity. In addition, they had a significant reduction in insoluble Aβ peptide levels and deposition, lower amount of phosphorylated tau protein at specific epitopes, which were secondary to an activation of cell autophagy.

Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) is an effective substrate for mitochondrial energy metabolism and is known to prevent neurodegeneration and attenuate heavy metal-induced injury. In this study, we investigated the function of ALC in the recovery of mouse spermatogonia cells (GC-1 cells) after heat stress (HS).

Dr Mindy, I'm a Nigerian 61+ year old, and I've just started intermittent fasting 16:8 window (14th April 2023)to be precise. Ive lost fat around my waste, bum, back etc.

I just finished a 36 hour fast, only water and coffee, feeling great. I do Intermittent fasting 18 to 24 hours a day and a 36 hour once a week. Awesome ! One or two meals a day depending on how I feel. No snacking either !

Now I'm improving my health at 50 myself, after going to doctors and getting nowhere.

I've been watching you since June. I was able to fast 12 hours per day. I saw a video yesterday that helped me go longer. I went 18 hours and ate in a 6 1/2 window. It was easier than I thought. I have been trying to loose 20 pounds for a year with no success. It seems it takes time to learn this and the grace of God. I am 72 and so desire to be well and healthy. Thank you for this to help us to get on a path of wellness and that doesn't cost money when money is so scare these days especially if you are a senior. i will continue to work on becoming well. Thank you.

I have been losing gradually with IF since January. Once I combined IF with autophagy and extended fasting, the weight loss really took off. I'm 51 and I feel like myself again.

Thank you for these videos. As someone who’s eaten processed foods most of my life, it’s so challenging to think about what I now want to eat (i.e., clean foods) in between IF, so this is very helpful because these are the foods I will keep on hand. 👍

Lost 15kg and now gained 2kg (at 57kg with a goal of reversing my T2 Diabetes along with maintaining a weight of 55kg). On a mission I now know I can accomplish 😊
