This video shows you how to snapshot your system and copy it to a VHDX file for use with Hyper-V. I then show you how to use the virtualised in Microsoft Hyper-V. This process is often called P to V (Physical to Virtual)

Come with me as I show you how it's done, I hope this helps you out.
Please remember that Client and Server Hyper-V are free Hypervisors built into Windows 10 and Server 2016.

I've worked in IT support for nearly 10 years and want to thank you for watching, why not give this a try!

Thanks for watching, please like, subscribe, and share these videos and I'll see you next time.

Seems like it might be limited to less than 200GB. found this in the read me type file:

."Using Disk2vhd

The Disk2vhd user interface lists the volumes present on the system. It will create one VHD for each disk on which selected volumes reside. It preserves the partitioning information of the disk, but only copies the data contents for volumes on the disk that are selected. This enables you to capture just system volumes and exclude data volumes, for example.

Note: Virtual PC supports a maximum virtual disk size of 127GB. If you create a VHD from a larger disk, even if you only include data from a smaller volume, it will not be accessible from a Virtual PC VM. In addition Virtual PC doesn't support the Multiprocessor Specification, which means that it won't be able to boot VHD's from multiprocessor Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 systems.

Good Video - clear and concise. This is the first viable answer to 'how to move to an old PC to new hardware without a reinstall' that I have found. So a big thanks for the video. Just one question, what factors go into the choice between Gen 1 and Gen 2 options?

I want to dual boot linux and windows. But I want to be able to edit and view windows from Linux and any change I make stays there when I boot into windows and it's not virtual change.
Anyway to do something like this? I know I can simply write to the Windows partition directly but I prefer a GUI Windows
