I bought one of these things about two years ago back when they were fifty bucks without the spout. I have mostly used it as a standard gas can. The thing is awesome, it doesn’t make my car stink after a trip to the gas station, and untreated gas seems to last longer. I am using one year old E10 in my push-mower without any difficulty.

"Gasoline" label probably discourages people from using the can to store water. The internal coating is stable to gas, but breaks down when exposed to water.

Great video! I just ordered this exact Wavian can two days ago and waiting for it to arrive. I was very tempted to but a knock off but I’m glad I didn’t. Seeing some of the issues with the Knock offs it would have defeated my purpose. I will will be for short term yearly fuel storage for mowers or small backup generator. I see the cap can be stiff at first I have trouble with my hands but I’m sure I will be fine. Just shows it’s well constructed and seals nice and tight.

Well, here's number one reason why I won't store gas in a "Chinese knockoff."
RUST. All the ones I've seen are NOT coated on the inside. Only the Wavian and Valpro cans were. With our ethanol-infused gas sucking water out of the atmosphere right into the can, rust is certainly going to form on the untreated surface.
Secondly, on the Chinese cans that I examined, the external coating was sprayed paint, NOT powder coat.
Personally, I have no use for a latching system like that one. A simple screw-on cap is all I need, thank you very much. So, for those reasons, I chose the Valpro cans from Harbor Freight. And, I put a coat of bed liner on the bottoms of them, too. Ya know, just to be safe.

I know someone who has 4 of these, they are older military ones but whatever they use on the inside to seal them is rusting and the particles are now floating in the gas!

Harbor Freight carries a very similar item for $45 but with a crappy government mandated spout.
