Strange thing is that George didn't get the respect he deserved, but after they dissolved George had the first #1 hit with My Sweet Lord as a solo artist. His triple album "All Things Must Pass" also outsold and outdid John's and Paul's first solo albums even though the retail cost of a triple set was more expensive. George had written most of All Things Must Pass when The Beatles were still together. Rumor has it that he didn't want to put his best songs out there with The Beatles so he kept them for himself. The first song recorded for ATMP was called Wah Wah. Very good song. Give it a listen. George liked the original version better before Spector got hold of it and blasted it with his signature reverb, but it grew on George. When George said, "You're giving me a wah wah" he was talking about them giving him a headache.

If you watch the whole thing, you can see how John & Paul really patronised him throughout it. He brought some great songs to the table and didn't get the respect he deserved.
He did return a few days later to finish the record though.

If you have a spare 8 hours you need to watch the Get Back documentary on Disney+, from which this clip is taken. (It's very good, in spite of the length). George did leave but he was persuaded to come back a few days later. When he returned he brought Billy Preston with him, Billy sat in on the sessions, they had left gloomy Twickenham studios for their home base of Savile Row, everyone upped their game and got along fine and there was the famous concert on the roof. And a few months later they got together again and produced the Abbey Road album.

About a year later they did eventually and irrevocably split up, for various business reasons and the majority desire to pursue solo careers (which, to a great extent, was what they'd been doing since the end of touring in 1966 but with the other members as, in effect, session musicians).

There's a huge difference between the way they treat Ringo compared to George. Ringo is the oldest and George the youngest. It's crazy to think of how famous George was, yet at the same time Paul & John treated George like a little brother. I can tell you as the youngest of four brothers that crap gets old once you're an adult.

They disrespected him so much. 😔 He did so much great solo work after the dissolution of The Beatles.

Shortly after this, George would release “All Things Must Pass, ” one of the greatest albums ever. Period. You should react to some more tracks from that!

This was true reality tv…it happened that way, though after several discussions, George did eventually return. Honestly, the whole documentary is worth your viewing time…if even not for reactions.

This was January '69. He quit for about a week. It wasn't permanent. He came back, and they finished the sessions for this album (that would be released a year later as Let It Be). They did another album - Abbey Road - and then broke up in April 1970 after Paul announced that he quit the group. *If someone was trying to tell you that George permanently quit during these sessions, they were either intentionally fooling you or they didn't know the whole story.

George was my favorite Beatle...to me, his songs were the most thought provoking out of all the others...not that the others were any kind of slouches, I've never heard a Beatles song I didn't like, just that I liked George's songs best...

He was the second Beatles to quit and the second to return. John was the third one to quit and made it final. Paul never quit and announced the band broke up so he could promote his first solo album. John was pissed and jealous that he didn’t think of that.

You need to check out all of "Get Back". There was a lot more that went on before their official break up. He obviously came back to finish up what would be the "Let It Be" album as well as their final album, "Abbey Road", which you did a wonderful reaction to by the way. It was after that the Beatles dissolved. John Lennon was actually the one who quit but it wasn't announced. The actual announcement came out from Paul when he released his first solo album. This made John mad because he could have done the same thing to promote his solo work.

He did come back. Watching The Beatles documentary on Disney+ it seemed like George wasn't taken serious with suggestions especially by Paul. That's just my take on what I saw.

I like your new intro btw!

George's infamous conversation with Paul in trying to get a song down has been legend in fan-circles for ages. "Just tell me what you what me to play and I'll play it!"

All these guys were in a sour mood, trying to create in front of cameras, with a director imposing himself into the process too often, in an area that was not the best place to do any of that. Once they got back (heh, no pun intended) to their normal studio facilities AND especially after they brought in Billy Preston to essentially straighten up their attitudes (because he was not only a guest, but he could play as good if not better than them), things began to work itself out.

Yes he came back and said, "I have 'something' to say. Here comes the sun! “😅

The beginning of part 2 (out of 3) you can see Paul & Ringo scares and Paul says “and then there were two”
That still haunts me after watching it months ago.

There is actual footage out there of the four of them signing the legal papers to dissolve the band, and if I'm not mistaken, I believe you can actually hear George whisper "Please just let it be over with."

After watching that clip, that's how I'm leaving all jobs/friendships from now on. "I think I'll be leaving (the insert name of place or people harshing my mellow) now". I'm glad he came back, but this was a brilliant way to say you're fed up without getting pissy about it.

George Harrison was my favorite one! John and Paul were always to ones in total control, never giving George the credit he deserved.

They also did the "Rooftop" concert as their last time playing together. For all intents, and purposes, it was over before this ever happened, and they all knew it was just a matter of time.
Sounds crazy, but they were only together for 7 years. The greatest Rock and Roll Band ever.
