I am from the state of Chihuahua Mexico we have tons of Tuna fruits i never seen nobody burn the hairs or espinas as we call it down here we just grab them with a peace of paper from both ends and slice one side and then just roll around the skin off in less than 15 seconds you will have the skin off and ready 2 eat....My mom has a cactus in back of her house the Tunas are the size of an Apple and very dark red and so

It's good to see a low desert survival channel versus the forest or high desert. Keep up the good work.

I grew up on the west side of El Paso, and as soon as the camera panned out and I saw the mountain, I was like, "Hey!!! Home!!!" Also grew up eating prickly pear fruit just for fun when my friends and I played out in the desert. This is an awesome video! Thank you!

Thank you! Please feature more of these edible plants and fruits. Also, the ones that we need to avoid.

Here in Kansas, we do have cactus but they're really small. I went to Texas once, best time I've ever had, I went with my high school marching band and played at the Alamo bowl. Wish i could have tried more of the regions foods.

Thank you for making this video. I have been told these are called tuna in Mexico. I am anxious to actually try some myself.

You're cool.

I grew up in The Chihuahuan Desert. That's a difficult place to survive.

I live in the Rocky Mountains now. I'd rather be here in the dead of winter for four days, than in the summer desert for four days.

I can always make a fire and there's always water near me in the mountains. The desert can kill fast and creekbeds can disappear. In the mountains, I can just follow the water drainage to town if I get lost.

Good video. Thanks for sharing your experience.
