The chart gives information about the number of American households (in millions) based on their annual income in 8 years. Overall, households with low income (less than $25, 000 to $49, 999) experienced a rise at first but then the numbers fell, while people with incomers $75, 000 and more faced the opposite pattern (reduced slightly and then rose) and those with mid-level income remained unchanged.
Regarding low-income American households, the number of households with less than $25, 000 salary increased from 25 million at first to close to 30 million in 2011 but then experienced a fall in 2011 and became less than it was four years before. In 2007, the number of households with $25, 000-$49, 999 income annually was more than 25 million, after 4 years it increased to nearly 30 million (being the largest number of all in that year), and then declined to less than the number it was previously.
By contrast, the number of households with %75, 000 to almost $100, 000 income, faced a different pattern than the previous group and after a small fall in 2011, it rose slightly and became 15 million in 2015. People with more than $100, 000 salary, however, had the same pattern in these 8 years, starting with a decrease in 2011 and a sharp increase (which became close to 35 million) in 2015. Additionally, the mid-level income remained the same throughout these years. (HERE is mg writing, I sent it before, but i realized it didn't send. It is, in my opinion, a bit long and took me 10 or more minutes more than 20 minutes to write. I need help with timing, too❤tysm)

The given bar chart gives information on number of households in the U.S by annual income over 8 years. Overall, US households earning less than $49, 999 increased and mid-income group which are earning from $50, 000 to $99, 999 remained stable.
In detail, in 2007, the number of lower income households earning less than $25, 000 was at 25million and it rose to 28million in 2011.
Also, the figure earning from $25, 000 to $49, 999 rose from 27million to 30million between 2007 and 2011. Turning to the number of high income household earning over $100, 000, the figure slightly decreased in 2011 to 27million from 29million in 2007. Interestingly, the figure of high income households is peak in 2015, reaching at 33millions.

IELTS ACADEMIC 18, TEST 2, WRITING TASK 1 [INTRODUCTION + OVERVIEW]

The bar chart illustrates the number of US households according to their yearly wage over a period of 8 years (in 2007, 2011 and 2015). Overall, families with annual incomes less than $50, 000 experienced a rise and fell back slightly over the 8-year period. In contrast, those with incomes of $75, 000 and above encountered an opposing trend. The households with mid-level incomes remain steady over the duration.

Hey there,
I have a query related to overview.
I was taught that the overview must be written in general. We cant mention any sort of numbers, date, etc. Can I directly write lower level and high level instead of using the specific number or is it just okay to mention the numbers??

Hello, thanks alot again for the video. However, I am starting to get so worried . My exam is in a week and I struggled alot doing this essay. Not only this but our essays are as different as night and day. Could you please make a video or help me how to brainstorm? Like even my overall paragraph ( summary ) is different and everything. I would appreciate any feedback or tips of how to brainstorm so i can right about the correct thing. I also kept like saying " households with income is that okay?

my essay: The chart compares the number of houses in a country, US, by their yearly net during 3 different times : 2007, 2011, and 2015

Overall, as the data suggests, people with an annual income of 100, 000$ or above were present the most in houses in 2007 ; however, people with a less yearly income, 25, 000$-49999, lived more than others with higher or less incomes in households during 2011. In 2015, people with an income 100, 000 or above were, again, the most living in household.

As clearly shown, in 2007, households with annual incomes less than 50000$ were roughly equal in number, 25 million. Nevertheless, those with incomes of were nearly 30 million, which was more than these with incomes of 750000$ or less.


In contrast, the number with an income of or more and an income of 50000$ or less were all above 25 million. In addition, the number with an income between 50k$ and 75k$ was more than that between 75, 0000 and 100k$, 20 million and 15 million respectively.


In 2015, the number of houses with an income 100k or more rose significantly and was the highest, leveling at approximately 35m. As in previous years, the number with an income of less than 50k$ were almost equal, whereas the number with an income less than 100k$ was more than that with an income of more than 50k$.
