Notes - Peppermint OS 11
Ubuntu base dumped for Debian. No explanation given.
Looks like 64 bit only. If you buy used Thinkpad for test make sure not 32 bit.
XFCE environment.
NEMO instead of THUNAR file manager.

the advantage was it had a LXDE cpu usage with the Cinnamon file manager Nemo and the Xfce start menu, but now it is not better than any other Xfce distro

We (Team Peppermint) discussed including a browser and realized at least half our users would uninstall the default for their favorite. This led to adding the browser options to the new "Welcome to Peppermint" application. Allowing everyone to make that choice for themselves. 😉

Looking at the source.list, Peppermint comes with bullseye-backports enabled so you can get access to newer software. I was able to upgrade the kernel form 5.10 to 5.15. If you choose to do this (upgrade the kernel) don't forget to install the matching linux-headers package.

The Menu is not Brisk which was designed between Solus and Ubuntu MATE for the MATE DE.
Rather it is the Whisker Menu.for Xfce 4.

And Debian too-- so extra stable!!!! I've tried and had NO issues.. so thinking about switching to it-- but I have LMDE 5- customized the way I want- so it does pretty much the same thing- the same way--- and I hate to change and take a chance to screw something up--- because if it's POSSIBLE- i'd do it!! :)

Where is the 32-bit valley that but today I don’t know why when you made this video but today there is a 64 bread and a 32 foot version based both on Devion with system day and based on Deveron with system V

Fully XFCE, fully Debian based. Top Notch! :)

I assume it is based on Debian Stable? Debian Testing would have been perfect. Looks good tho'

I really don’t understand ICE I don’t get it that the requires you to have chrome or chromium installed right but if you have chrome chrome and installed you can already create a shortcut you know you can create a of an a rapper for whatever web-based application you’re trying to run Drag that little boy anywhere you want and the system into the menus onto the panel and it’ll use the right icon instead of the bullshit google icon or whatever website icon you go to it already works just fine just with the browser and you don’t need ice I mean you can do that on an old desktop you can do it on the windows desktop you can do it on on our chrome desktop you can do it on any desktop I don’t think it has to be chrome or chromium to do it I think any browser that lunch or create a shortcut will let you do it so what does ICE do that you can’t already do with your browser

I'll stick with 10 Respin for now, 11 just looks boring, unpolished and 10 really looked good out of the box.
On a good note they do have synaptic and Gdebi pre installed. On a questionable note why much older software.
