This is very informative. You start with the basics for understanding what is going on. I have had a lot of people explain it to me but I did not understand because they did not relate it to ME. Thank you very much. I am 66 and I love this channel.

I became disabled, so I qualified for Medicare before regular retirement age by just a bit. I took Medicare Advantage. It was a shock when I had to stop going to the doctor! I saw several specialists before the Advantage plan, whom I had to stop seeing. There was no way I could afford to see them under Medicare Advantage. I also had to limit my visits to my PCP to twice a year because Medicare Advantage wouldn't pay enough for me to be able to go to the doctor. So, I could go to the dentist 2 times a year, but there was no way for me to go see the doctors I needed to see. I was in pretty bad shape, and NEEDED the help of those specialists. I wouldn't have been referred to them if I really didn't need them. It was just too bad. My health had to suffer because Medicare Advantage refused to pay for the medical services I needed...kind of like private insurances do...

Medicare doesn't cover anything but it WILL take your money. They need to allow seniors to get Insurance through the ACA.

My mom had Medicare + Medicaid so some of those things mentioned (physicals, eye care, etc) was covered by Medicaid.
I’ll end up w/the same when I turn 65.
