Knee Valgus

✅ Knee Valgus (Knock Knees) leads to Pronation Distortion Syndrome which is characterized as excessive foot pronation (flat feet), knee flexion, & internal rotation & adduction of the tibia & femur.

⚠️Someone that is experiencing knee Valgus may also be experiencing pain in other areas such as on the lateral side of leg on the ilitibial band (iliotibial Band syndrome).

🔍 This is because having a muscle imbalance such as knocked knees results from a weak gluteus medius which forces other muscles (such as the TFL) to over compensate.

🔑 Knee Valgus is particularly noticeable when one performs a squat or during the exploding / landing phase of a jump.

➡️ Reducing Knock knees is also important in order to mitigate the chance for any potential lower body injuries.

✔️ An important cue to follow is to maintain proper knee-to-toe alignment (knee stays over middle/3rd toe); and to keep the feet straight throughout the full range of motion

Hi, I have slightly knocked knees due to being obese, I also suffer from Chondromalacia patellae grade 3. Can I do these exercises?
