Calif. Zephyr in Ft. Morgan on 31AUG2024

This California Zephyr #5 arrived in Fort Morgan at 0559 MDT (14 min. off). Powering the 8-car train were P42s #192 & #140. They brought the consist to a stop with car 7 to the parking area platform for 3 departing passengers and 1 new fare.
With the station work safely completed, the high ball was called and on a clear signal, the Zephyr resumed its westward run with the next stop being Union Station in Denver.

Good morning Mike. I got everything going again. I'll be stopping in Fort Morgan on September 29 on the #6 and leaving on the #5 on October 1st. Fort Morgan will be my second to last stop on my around the USA Amtrak trip. Stay safe and warm/cool over there

Hey Hey Mr. Mike and Happy Saturday to ya. Thanks for the #5 coverage and being able to see the beautiful morning in FMG. Cooler today, 87F and no rain at our place. They're calling for 87F tomorrow as well, with maybe rain. We'll see. Still no contact from FEMA inspector. They're supposed out of funds (except for the $750 emergency fund payments) because Congress hasn't passed funding bills. Wow, that's a shocker 😅. But I'm a patient man, so I'll keep calling them for updates. I have a private roofing contractor coming on Tuesday to provide an estimate to see where we're at. Will keep y'all posted. We're having a good weekend anyway. Hope you're doing the same. Be safe my friend 👍

A very good morning to you Mike from 83 mid Tenn. Going to mid 90 s today but cooler for holiday weekend. Beautiful Colorado sunrise as mostly usual but the low humidity sounds good. Enjoy your holiday but then you don't get one with CZ5 daily. Is our train still running sold out mostly, coach and sleeper. I watch Texas Eagle a lot & it's sold out on sleeper most of time both directions. They usually run just 1 coach and I sleeper so no wonder attached to Sunset Limited. Price ok but very limited space mostly & way out advance.
