I seem to get Decision Fatigue when I’m decluttering… one thing that I’ve implemented is this tactic…

When decluttering Instead of looking for things that I don’t want and I have to stop n make a decision on it, instead I do a visual scan and use my instinct for the 1st few second of things that stick out to me from that space and those are the things I tent to keep.. it works like a charm every time 👌

I love this... It makes resting on God's Saturday Sabbath so comfortable and relaxing. And it keeps me busy during the week. Thank you for sharing.

I LOVE #3 but I’m putting a little spin on it! Instead of paper I’m using small poker chips that came with my Left Right Center game. Writing numbers & placing in a pretty small vase or dish that I’m setting in every room. Throughout the day or as I go into that room….draw a chip & declutter that amount in THAT room😃 I have a small donation basket (or garbage bag) in each room with a sack in it, then when it’s full it goes to the bag goes to the main box (or trash can!)
I think your method would be excellent for kids too!
Your videos are awesome and as a 71 year old great grandma, sure wish I had them in my younger years‼️. Maybe I wouldn’t now be downsizing my stuff so my kids won’t have to😂😂😂. Keep up the great work🫶

There are a lot of things we don't need, we keep them just in case we will need or want them in the future. Or, sentimental things we can't let go of. What may help is decide what you want in your future, make a list, and go from there. It may be easier to declutter once you have a vision of your plans. 😊

I have been decluttering my house. I don’t think too hard. I make a quick decision to keep or throw away or give away. If I don’t think too hard, I usually choose to throw/give away. If I think too hard, I usually want to keep it because “what if I need it?”.

The first decluttering tactics that seem very doable and not overwhelming to me! I have autoimmunes that rob me of energy but these seem like something I can definitely do!

I’ve been struggling a lot with decluttering for years now. One step forward, just to take 10 steps back 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve been needing a channel like this to help me out. I appreciate you!

Three challenges. Declutter five things a day every day for a week straight.
Label numbers one through 10 and put them in a hat pick a number out of the hat every so often and get rid of that many number of items
Set a timer for 30 minutes and go crazy

I think in my younger years I could make snap decluttering decisions. Now I’m older, my thoughts R more complicated

3 Decluttering Challenges

#1 - Get Rid of 5 Items Everyday for 1 Week

#2 - 30 Minute Speed Declutter (declutter as quick as you can before time runs out)

#3 - Draw A Number (Write numbers 1-5 or 1-10 etc. on pieces of paper and place them in a jar. When you have any down time pick a number and get rid of that many items.)

I spent about 1.5 hours today "speed decluttering" my spice cabinet and medicine cabinet. Half the spices were never used or long since expired, now that they're gone I can actually get to all the usual spices I cook with. Same with the medicine cabinet, there was lots of duplicates and long-expired medication that was promptly tossed (I know some things are good past exp date, and I know which ones aren't). I got it down to 3/5 as full as it was. Also did another sweep of kitchen utensils and found another handful of duplicates or items that I just don't use that went in the donate box. Feels so good to downsize more!

Tips for how to find the right organizers for my places. When I am at target I have no idea how that would fit in my places and how my things will fit in that thing!

The way I approached it was by changing my lifestyle mindset. For example, I make sure that once I finish the products I'm going through such as shampoo and such, including samples or whatever (makeup included), I only purchase once I'm on my last one. I make sure I finish what I buy before making a purchase. While it will take longer to get to a desired goal, I don't want to add to unecessary waste in the world (as I practice sustainability) so if something is still good and not expired, I will finish it. Sooner rather than later, I end up buying the products that DO work and make a difference in my life. So far, I got to a point where I only have 1 or 2 of most items I need in my life. The only things I'm going through at the moment are shower gels (as I have multiples). I have a lot more space in my house now by doing this but of course, this is just how my mind personally works. I just don't like throwing away things that are still good. I either sell them or use them. This way, I don't have to go through the heartbreak of parting with it when I'm not ready for that. Haha.

I like the monthly decluttering challenge when you write down numbers from 1 to 30, then declutter certain areas and count how many items you can get rid of, to cross out a certain number from your list :)
