Ugh it is so refreshing to search for cleaning motivation videos and finally find a channel where the house isn’t already like, white/beige minimalist and sterile immaculate already, this is realistic and actually motivating. Thank you for posting ❤️

The cleaning hack that helps me is to improve the kitchen every time I go in there. It doesn't have to be much. Maybe the pan from making my oatmeal has now soaked enough to release that residue. Ok. Run the brush around inside, dump the water, add hot soapy water, finish cleaning it, dry and put away. Done. Improvement in 2 or 3 minutes. My rule is you don't have to make the kitchen spotless. Just better, because better is good.

It always shocks me how little time a lot of household tasks actually take. I’ll put something off for wayyy to long then finally psych myself up to do it and it takes like 4mins 😂

Yes!! When you said: “when you’re overwhelmed, starting is the hardest part” —that hit home for me!!

The Music….always the best! You have an incredible ability to pair the perfect music to the scene. We all need Carla curated playlists in our lives!

I use mental reframing hacks. For example, I “save energy “ by putting something away after I use it (move it once) vs putting it down and then putting it way (move it twice). I fold clothes out of the dryer so they don’t wrinkle and I don’t have to iron. I make my bed in the morning because when I get into a pretty bed at night it makes me feel like someone loves me and has taken care of me.

I love the way Samson keeps you company, quietly waiting until you finish.

I don’t have any advice to offer. I just want to thank you for always keeping it real! I just enjoy watching you, and your tips are very helpful to me. Cleaning is hard for some people. Whatever the reason or situation, it is overwhelming.

Little tip..if you know you won’t put something away right away (like clothes), have a designated basket for the items to be put into. So a basket to throw clothes inside, instead of the floor in bedroom. a basket in living room for random papers, etc.
at least that way they are contained and you can tackle when have the time.
Love your channel!

Sorry about the migraines as they can certainly derail everything else. I worry that if you go to getting food delivered, it will be lower quality and make you feel worse (high fat, high salt, high sugar, less fiber, etc). I do a menu plan based on my fridge/pantry supplies which cuts down on wasted food. I also cook enough for 3 meals so the second day I have no cooking and 1 meal goes in the freezer for when I don’t want to cook. That way you only cook 2 times a week. On my grocery shopping day I make an easy charcuterie meal and cut lots of meats, cheeses, veggies and fruit which I can then eat for lunches throughout the week. It takes planning but so much healthier than take-out (and cheaper). Good luck! I love watching you tackle your home and others. You are a kind, gentle soul.

I just love Samson. He is so chill. How old is he? He is so well trained - stays out of the kitchen and no jumping up on furniture. Or is that his arthritis? He just exudes patience with you.😊

15 minutes is my main home hack: 15 minutes of tidying and cleaning a day. No matter how tired or exhausted or lacking time, I can make myself do 15 minutes. I mean, it is just 15 minutes and afterwards I get to lounge as long as I want.
The important thing is to actually limit yourself to 15 minutes. And use a timer

Dishes tip: have a sink full of soapy water while cooking and wash as u go. Then the only things left to wash are your actual eating utensils.

I love how calm you are, sometimes I start to panic when I get overwhelmed and see how much is actually needed to be done.
So thank you Carla, you truly inspire me to take small steps and stay calm and not give up❤️

Try using 20 mule team borax added to your laundry. It takes a lot of smells out of laundry. This is what mothers used in diaper pails when I was a kid before disposable diapers. Sold in the laundry detergent aisle. Hugs

I realized that it is easier to just put stuff away than to go back later to put it away. Doing a few minute clean up at night before bed means waking up to a calmer space. Love your videos and your kind heart.

Carla, I appreciate you making the videos of you resetting your house and showing it in its livable state and then showing us the action of getting it back to normal. I’m always so hard on myself on why I can’t keep my house tidy and picked up. I always have stuff everywhere and it’s exhausting to have to get it back to nice and organized. I love all your videos and seeing that you have to do the same, helps me remember that it’s part of life. I’m not the only one and it’s normal to have to reset our home back to a controlled existence lol. Thank you!!

Thank you so much for being real and showing the real extent of the mess you're cleaning. I like how you even stated how overwhelming it can be, I felt that. This is very inspiring to me
