Everything I LIKE and DISLIKE about the 2024 Subaru Outback Touring XT

In this video I discuss my likes and dislikes about the 2024 Subaru Outback Touring XT finished in Autumn Green Metallic with the Java Brown Nappa Leather interior. The Outback is relatively unchanged for the last several years but still offers a unique package. With the 2.4l Turbo engine, the Outback has great performance while maintaining decent fuel economy. When combined with it's large fuel tank, it can travel over 500 miles on a single tank. Subaru Eyesight is still a lackluster system in my opinion along with the infotainment system but if you can get over these two aspects, I would recommend checking one out. I subscribed despite not agreeing with a few points you raised, especially the infotainment system and the ride comfort. I have a 2023 OB Touring in Sydney, Australia. my previous 3 cars were Citroens with Hydractive suspension, so to me the ride comfort the OB offers is just barely OK, certainly not fantastic. The infotainment system, though, I find superb. No complaints whatsoever. Oh, and the headlights: I feel the Low Beam is so good, that the High Beam doesn't make much difference. Out of town I use the High Beam all the time, just leave it on High and the car automatically makes adjustments to the beam (still on High) in order not to blind oncoming traffic. It is not a matrix system so how it does it beats me, but it works very well.

Just purchased a new 2024 Outback Limited with the 2.5 naturally aspirated engine. It's certainly enough power and I have better mpg and I don't need premium gas. Things I don't like are Subaru's touch screen demands distractions. There's touch screen stuff going on I simply do not like. One example in busy traffic I get low on gas... I see I'm low on the guage, I see the indicator light come on, but why would I need a third "reminder" the blocks out the entire infotainment screen with a warning and station suggestions. I agree the seat butts are painful over 2 hours. I also completly agree that Lane Centering is awful, but I use the less aggressive Lane Assist with all drives.

OK.... And my biggest complaint that no one has a solution for is: How can I get Android Auto music to play at the same volume as the radio? Never an issue with any other vehicle but with my new Limited I MUST adjust the volume every time I turn off-on the ignition as Serious or FM screams loud for 40 seconds while it acquires Android Auto. I've tried everything

I'm really surprised you found the seats uncomfortable for long rides. I have a 22 OB Touring and have taken several 500 miles road trips driving 8-9 hours and have found the seats very comfortable especially with the thigh extension as I'm 6 feet tall and I don't know any other vehicle in this price range that even offers a thigh extension. I do agree with the cooled seats, it's almost useless and now I never use it. Agree, the lane centering is about average, my wife has a 24 Pilot Touring and I find that to be a little smoother, but not by much. Would like to know what cars in this class you have found comfortable, it would be good to provide examples. Thanks for the video.

I just got 2024 Outback Touring none XT (with Java brown leather). I have no problems with the seat. I think it is better than my son 2020 Forester Touring.

I have really been trying to figure out what small SUV to get as I am having a kid soon and I am stuck between this thing for its price ranges or the Honda CR-V hybrid for the better gas mileage and the slightly larger internal space.

Thank you so much for demonstrating the headlights. Very important. Surprised on the seat comfort and cooling of the seats. The Subaru driver nannies should have the ability to adjust the level of sensitivity. The beeping creates more stress of the driver.

Incandescent bulbs are much cheap to change than an entire taillight assembly. I can buy incandescent bulbs at Walmart. I can't buy a taillight assembly at Walmart.
