It's actually a lot of fun to practice waving at the cheering crowd too.
I caught myself doing this one time when I was playing alone, but I made a 40 foot putt over a boulder, hillside footing.
I waved to an invisible crowd as a jogged in to collect, and a random player two holes behind me started clapping for me.
I would have been mortified to do all that just to turn and see someone standing there watching me. That guy is a legend for showing me some love.
I remember being a noob trying to keep up with pros who couldn't make time for noobs. It's not that they were toxic, more like in a hurry to level up.
One of my greatest joys in disc golf is showing up to a course I have never played before, and taking in with some locals who know the route.
They show me the ropes, and I show them what a pro shot looks like. I love teaching fundamentals because it only makes mine stronger.
When you are forced to put things into words, it changes how you analyze the subject. It's good study habit to read it, say it, write it.
For disc golf that translates into: watch it, listen to it, try it. You have to experiment to find what works for you, but having the resources like we have now is amazing.
Thanks for sharing all the pro tips! Multimedia allows you to reach out to so many people!

I have a practice basket in my office at work. Before I can leave at the end of the day, I have to make putts from 5 different spots (with 3 discs at each spot) going further back. If I miss at a spot, I have to re-putt all the discs as that spot to move to the next spot. Once I have completed all 5 spots, I have to do them again in reverse until I'm back to the closest spot. I can't leave to go home until I have done this. On days I take the bus, it adds pressure, since the bus I catch is the last one of the day.

Ullie's game is my favorite putting game. Start at 10, markers every 5 ft back, 3 discs. Make all 3, advanced to next marker. Make 2, stay at same marker. Make 1, move to previous marker. Make 0, restart. Have fun getting mad and staying outside for hours! 😄

There's a course by my house with a cool practice basket. It has a spiral of bricks around it in 2 foot increments. So you can have an exact idea of how far you're putting from every time and what distance becomes difficult for you and where you need practice from.

Game with a friend: 2 disc "Horse" - Same old schol rules as horse, however, by adding a second consecutive throw it adds difficulty as well as rewards your opponent for skill.

Start: Player 1 chooses spot and marks with mini (or anything). Player 1 takes 2 throws from spot. If Player 1 makes both discs, then Player 2 must also make both discs. However! If Player 1 makes 1 and misses 1, then Player 2 can steal the box by making both 2 discs.

The best tip i ever got that got me putting 100 times better was do not overthink your putt. I was always worried about my form and always thinking about how i should put before putting. Now i do what is the most comfortable for me and just putt.

I like to circle the basket with minis that slowly get farther out, take a stack of five putters, and for every putt you make, you move to the next mini. But if you miss, you lose the putter. It’s fun to play if you’re having a hard time getting that pressure to make every putt. (If you want more repetition than you can do it a little different where you putt five times at one mini and if you miss 3 or more, you move closer. If you make 3 or 4, you stay where you are. And if you make all 5, you move farther out.)

Just like in my driveway when I was a kid playing basketball I play "around-the-world" with a twist though. I put my basket on a hill and I go until I make it all the way around with no misses. I get uphill, downhill, across all practiced in one routine.

This was nice! To Beginners it would be usefull to show 10+ different grips and so give a clue what to try and find one that feels correct to you, even better that each Person tells why that grip is for him/her. It is personal, but to Beginners it is good to have more than one example.
Same 10+ examples of different putting styles/forms and again. Why the putter use that form. Also this is very personal, but having 10 pros to show their Style and tell why this way, may help befinner to find his own.
The problem is that it would be longer, so I would make this two parter. This would be first. The basics and second about the technique (the longer one)
Same thing with aproach shots, drives but in those there could be Also non pros because beginner does not have the same speed and distance. So it could be usefull to see different styles Also there and Also reason why the Person did shoot that particular throw.
I Also have found usefull to see a two or three players to go through a diskgolf course and tell what throw They Are gonna make and why. Wery usefull to beginner and Also to people who have been playing longer. I have really liked to see MacBeth and Brody to train and MacBeth to tell what shot to take and why. Were usefull stuff!

Loving my Recruit basket for about a year now. I loved the Veterans that are at one of my local courses so much, I had to get a Dynamic basket.

And as far as games to play while practicing: "Sevens" is always a good one.

I came up with a practice game i like. Start at my guaranteed distance(say 10 feet) use two putters. If i make both move back 5 feet. If i miss one of the two i repeat the distance. If i miss both i move back forward to the previous spot. I have only made it out to 35’ once but im getting better! I like this game because i found when i was just trying to make say 10 putts at 20’ i would get into a “miss every putt” groove that i felt was only teaching me what not to do.

I use the JYLY app...it's a putting game that has you put 5 discs in a round for 20 rounds. Depending on how well you do it has you move to a specific mark 15-30' (increments of 3') away or toward the basket. App is free. Gives you a score at the end but doesn't save progress for the next round or highest score so have to do that manually.

I first started out with spinn puts then i was at a clinic and understood pushputting more. I played a game when i have 3 putters from 1 meter from basket if i make 2 i advance to 2 meters if i make 1 i stay if i miss all i go 1 meter closer to basket. This way i figured out how i was more consistent with the push instead of Spinn. Also the way i found my routine. Mast turnament i played i had 94% c1 putts :D

This is a Beginner friendly version of Ullie and Slippytrick's grueling routine below. Place a beer or something tasty out where you only make about 1/2 your putts. Now move in to where you always make the putt. Make putts around in a circle, moving a step further out each make or a step back when you miss. When you get half way, you can see that beer and the putts get a harder and harder as you circle toward it. This drill usually only takes a few minutes but really forces you to lock down those easy but not so easy putts that win or lose most events.

I copied at least 5 styles, from push putting to adding a little spin. But the best solution (so far) is to flatten the disc as I release it. I couldn't stand my hyzer release when I first started.

Who wants to know how hard to grip the disc. I do, no one ever talks about this. I been gripping firmer and I get more spin. More accurate. But I also noticed that over tight grip on a backhand drive doesn't get near as much distance. Forehand, real tight grip!
