Just tell your dad about that time he called when the computer "wasn't working".

Why I love CollegeHumor? Because of genius bits of writing like this one:
"When your car won´t work, don't forget: You're spoiled!
You´re a soft person whose hands have never known a callous
and whose mind has been turned to pudding by screens.
This car is a luxury you don't deserve and whatever unsmiling God there is has rightly judged that you're unfit to have such bounty.
One must walk as if on the way of the cross to the road to Mecca to atone for the sins of gluttony and sloth that you, indeed, all of us are guilty of.
Remember to bring your own grocery bags."

induction tachometers measure how fast the gears turn in your engine by counting each notch in the cog untill it circles around as opposed to a non-contact tachometer that measures one pice of reflective tape on one spot in the gears rotation and a laser scans it as it passes, the reason you want a more comprehensive reading with induction is if you have a diesel engine you can adjust it to run any petroleum product such as parafin lamp oil diesel fuel even propane gas but thats WAY advanced even for "car guys" thanks for coming to my ted talk grahm

I don't know much about cars, but I am pretty sure they need a GTX 960 to run at 60 FPS on ultra settings.

0:40 "Hey, your computer sometimes fixes itself by magic, right? Well, your car does the same thing" got me dying. My computer does fix itself by magic.

Tachometers check engine rotation in RPMs, and the alternator makes electricity from the rotation of the engine. Both diesel and gasoline cars have tachometers. And tachs definitely won't matter on alternators, because the rotational speed of alternator really doesn't matter. You're welcome.

I tried calling my dad, then I remembered he died four years ago. That's how long I've been ignoring that funny tapping sound my car makes, four years, time sure goes fast.

I'm a lesbian, so all my non-car friends just call me and make homophobic assumptions about my ability to repair and properly maintain heavy machinery.

...Then I fix their car for them.

“Number six: listen to Cartalk 24/7. Surely there’s some shit in there you’ll understand and if you don’t, well at least there’s the humor.”

Your best option is setting it to Wumbo, so you never have to worry about it again.

Adjust the tachometer for the number of cylinders in your engine.
Locate the output wire from your distributor.
Test the connection.
Choose a mounting location for the tachometer
Install the tachometer. (USE TOOLS, NOT THAT HARD)
Set the shift light on the tachometer if applicable.

Easy peasy.
