How to fix your wii when it does not turn on

Make sure that you disconnect all the cables and also the memory cards from your wii. If you followed all the steps on the video and it still did not work, it might be that you have a bad cable somewhere. This worked for me too. I had basically tried all the steps before I consulted Google, but I didn't give it the full 3 minutes. After I saw this video, I tried again waiting 3 minutes and it worked! Thank you so much for posting this video! I really thought I was going to have to buy a new console.

If you have not tried the suggestions on the video, try them and see if that works. You might have a bad cable or power supply. If you have extra cables, try replacing them and see if that works. If nothing works disconnect everything from the wii, take out any games, takeout any memory cards and leave it like that for one night and try plugging it back in the next day. Good luck.

This worked, thank you very much. I have two wii's and was having this problem my wii would turn on the yellow or red light but it wouldnt turn on. after i watched this video and you said to try the other wiis cable i did it and tada my wii is as good as new :D thank you.

Oh my gosh thank you it actually work I actually had a mini panic attack this is not my wii its my sister totally just saved my life !

You need the ac adapter for the wii to work. Disconnect all the wires that are connected to the wii and wait 3 minutes before you plug them back in. Once you plug them in, turn on the wii and it should work. If you do not see anything on the screen, you might have a defective rca cables that are connected from the wii to the tv. If you have an extra wii or can get one, replace them and see if that fixes the problem. Good luck.

Yay!! It worked! Our 18 month old son hit the power button one too many times, so it wouldn't turn on. Thank God we saw this before we sent it in for repairs :)

If you have access to another working wii, try swapping cables and see if that fixes the problem. The wii has a safety mechanism that will not let it turn on if you have a defective cable. Most of the time this fixes the problem. If it still does not turn on after you swap cables, you are going to have to send it in for repairs. Good luck.
