We ate at 7-11 for dinner in Kanazawa, Japan. This was during New Year's day, so we really didn't have many options! Thankfully, 7-11 food is prettyyyy good.

🥦 This was the first time I had dinner at 7-11 and it wasn't bad! Their food seems very fresh.

A viewer asked me in a previous video for Kanazawa food recs and I sadly there weren't many options because it was a weekend 😭 but when in doubt...7-11!!!

In defense of the persimmon, the packaging literally says that it’s dried…
Yes, in English it only says “persimmon”, but seeing how many words the original Japanese name is, you should use a translating app to see what it says.

For those who don’t speak Japanese, getting your food warmed is easy. Since they want to be as quick and efficient as possible, the first thing they’ll ask is if you want your food heated so they can have it warming while they ring up your purchase. Say “hai” or nod, and you can point to the microwaves behind the clerks if you want to be extra clear. The second question, if you’ve said yes to the first one, is if you need chopsticks. Hai again. The rest you can get through without speaking at all. If you buy alcohol there is a button on the screen that you push to indicate that you’re over 20, but I’ve always had the clerk reach around and press it for me, again in the interest of a speedier checkout.

A lot of fruits in sealed non-transparent packaging tend to be dried fruits, just to note in the future when you’re looking for fruits. Especially the transparent part because you need to be aware whether if the fruit did spoil or not.

Tbf it looked obvious that it wasn't fresh from the type of packaging xD

The reason that 'fish cake' udon was sweet is because, in fact, it is not a fish cake udon at all. The packaging states it is 'inari udon, ' also known as kitsune udon, which contains a fried tofu pouch that is indeed quite sweet.

I love that same octopus salad! Btw, for fresh persimmon come any time between September and December there's always lots in any supermarket. It's become my favorite fruit!

The picture on the persimmon bag looks to be of the dried variety.

I love the texture of barley, especially when it's in a savory sauce. Everything looks so yummy.

Those look super good compared to what we have on the rollers here in the states. I’d so love it if they had that

The one with barley rice is Bibimbap and the “fish cake” in the Udon is actually fried tofu (Abura Age)😅
