Christmas of 1991.  Probably the best for me. The anticipation to use Yoshi was amazing.   That sounds weird now coming from a 40yo.  LOL.  The best part of owning this is playing the games on the original controllers.  That's what justified the purchase for me.

Finally got the Super NES Classic Edition last month (Jan. 17, 2018) at a Walmart in my city here in Canada, after nearly 4 months since its release. This console is still just so hard to find at stores. Why Nintendo still makes this item rare to get is beyond me. At least they kept their word this system would still be available into the new year, but I sure hope they make it more available. They said they would do a better job compared to how they did with the NES Classic Edition, which they were criticized for the lack of availability which I never got.

The games I play on this thing the most is Super Castlevania IV and Super Mario World. I think this thing and the Angry Video Game Nerd is what got me into retro games. Okay, admittedly, it was mainly the AVGN, but this thing is still so much fun to play

I wasn't around for the original SNES, but I still bought one later because I'm a massive video game nerd. It broke and I stupidly sold my Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World games :( But, now I've managed to pre-order a UK one - just like my old system! :D SOOO EXCITED :D:D:D
