ICC Says Hamas Must Free Hostages, Urges Israel to Obey Rules of Conflict

The International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor Karim Khan urged Hamas to release all hostages taken during its Oct. 7 incursion into Israel, and said Israel must make discernible efforts to ensure civilians in Gaza get access to basic goods like food and medicine. "Israel has clear obligations in relation to its war with Hamas, not just moral obligations but legal obligations to comply with the laws of conflict," Khan said at a briefing in Cairo on Sunday.
