The Non-Canon Expert looks at the brutal final days of Grand Moff Tarkin's life following the Battle of Scarif, explaining his violent thoughts regarding the shortcomings of the Death Star gunnery crew, and the way in which he ultimately dealt with the gunners who were seen as failures for their actions during the destruction of Alderaan.

This is a Canon story for Grand Moff Tarkin that is found within the Canon comic "Age of Rebellion: Grand Moff Tarkin". I hope that you enjoy it!

How great was this issue! There has been a recurring theme within the current Canon regarding the importance of Tarkin’s trials growing up on his homeworld of Eriadu, with even Palpatine noting the importance this had in shaping Tarkin as the perfect tool of the Empire, and his destiny with Palpatine himself. This issue captured all of this perfectly in my opinion.

Don’t hesitate to let me know what you thought of the issue if you’ve had a chance to read it. Thank you for watching and I hope you all enjoy today’s video. Have a great weekend everyone!

Tarkin is a high functioning psychopath. And that would make him an Excellent Sith Lord like How Palpatine is an Excellent Sith Lord.

If tarkin was force sensitive, he'd be as bad as Palpatine :p

I wish we could have seen Tarkins face when he heard the rebel fighters torpedoes entered the port and that the Reactor was going to explode.

If Tarkin fails or anyone in his command fails he has to answer to the emperor, which is a very freighting thought, so extreme measures have to be taken if there are any failures concerning the battle station, to show others the consequences of their failures extreme steps must be taken, clearly Tarkin was not screwing around, which made him a respected but much feared leader...

Tarkin: Steals people accomplishments. Has nonunderatanding of the cost for training. Can't even protect the Death Star...but he has so many scars!

Tarkin might have left the Carrion Plateau, but the Carrion Plateau never left Tarkin. Still a king among animals.

Maybe if he didn’t kill his gunnery crew they might have been able to blow up Yavin before Tarkin got atomized. XD

This means the superlaser gunner crew of the Death Star at the battle of Yavin is a different one.

I think I'd rather work among the slaves of Kessel than serve under Tarkin.

Whenever I read comics or watch your videos, I always wonder "Who are truly the bad guys" in most comics. Though it does make Tarkin look bad, in practice it probably would of been likely for one of those six gunners to leave and join the rebellion, due to the guilt and hesitation they went through as a result of destroying a planet. And to the Empire, people who wish to help the rebels are the bad guys. Yes he was cold and yes if I was one of those gunners who had blue I would honestly tell Tarkin "I'm loyal to the empire, but the thought of killing so many made me hesitate for a second before I came to my senses and realized I was purging away a world that supports my enemies."

What he did, looks bad, he just killed those six people. However, its a shame he missed that one guy who kept stalling the fire of the Death Star, when they actually needed it too fire.

Funny thing is its the same hesitation that brought about tarkens down fall

I think they could have thought of a better sound for the Deathstar to make when it destroyed Alderaan than ker-chew. Sneezed into oblivion

That's one imperial I wouldn't get along with and would end up kicking his ass and then leave be reassigned somewhere else

Oof....well I do like the depth they gave to the death star gunners and that they weren't monsters and really didn't want to blow up a whole planet. Tarkin is stone cold though. Who is Uncle Jova though? :O
