CORRECTIONS: At 1:09, we displayed a map implying that Albania was part of Yugoslavia, when Albania was never part of Yugoslavia. We also used an EU symbol for our Serbia license plate animation, when, as we mention later in the video, Serbia is not currently a part of the EU. Apologies about both of these errors, we hope you nonetheless enjoy the video!

The number of people actually thinking that this whole thing is about license plates is incredible and very sad...

Whoa, Serbia's license plate doesn't have the EU circle, because it's not a part of the EU. Also Albania wasn't a part of Yugoslavia.

You forgot to mention that by UNSC resolution 1244 Kosovo i Metohija is southern province of Serbia under protection of KFOR and only KFOR is allowed to carry weapons on that territory. Registration plates are not the problem but the Brussels agreement by which plates have to be neutral. Also forgot to mention that by agreements prior made there is moratorium for 'Kosovo' to seek any international organization applying of any sort. Also you failed to mention number of ethnically motivated attacks on Serbs on Kosovo, 271, only this year. Also no armed person is allowed on northern part of Kosovo with out of approval by 4 elected Serb representatives... You kinda made one sided story there haven't you?

The issue is that it's not the number plates It's what behind it, is that Kosovo requires you to have a kosovo ID to get kosovo plates, so this would force people that are Serbs to recognize kosovo as a country.

Honestly this makes Serbia good. Kosovo is currently the one creating instability imo.

The main reason for the protest's are not licence plates, it's that Kosovo's government didn't make ASM( Association of Serb municipalities) which they have obligation to make by Brussels agreement.

"License plates."

According to the [UN SC] Resolution 1244, Serbia has the RIGHT to send troops if they feel its citizens are in danger. So if EU and NATO deny this, they are actually breaking the law - not the first time. What MSM is not saying is that the albanian "police" are heavy armed with machineguns and taking down all Serbian flags in Mitrovica. Why dont you write this?

You didn't mention UN Resolution 1244 and it's 10th parragraph in which UN "Reinforce Suverenitet and Territorial integrity of FRY (or Serbia today as legal successor after Montenegro LEGALY separate from FRY leaving Serbia WITH KOSOVO AS PART OF SERBIA that was recognised as 1 Contry (Serbia) in UN in 2006!!

I was halfway through thinking how ridiculous it was that licence plates should provoke such a crisis of national identity when I remembered the blue passports :-/

Get your timing right, barricades weren't erected after the protest in Belgrade, protests in Belgrade was organized in support of the barricades which were already in place for days at that point.

A friend of mine, a Serb, went to his relatives funeral in Kosovo a few days ago, and was shocked to find Albanian policemen fully armed "guarding" the funeral. It definitely feels as if Albanians are trying to intimidate Serbs, who are afraid especially since 2004, when thousands of Serbs were expelled from Kosovo in a pogrom despite protection from KFOR, and many Serbian churches were burned and cemeteries demolished

Great report. After 20 years of trying, i finally understand this Kosovo thing for the first time. At least sort of. And i also get the point of view of Russia concerning the Donbas, with Putin thinking like 'if NATO is allowed to help secede Kosovo from Serbia, why would Russia not be allowed to help the Donbas secede from Ukraine?'. And it's actually a good question...

I was in the KFOR mission of 2015-2016 and absolutely loved my time in Kosovo. It is so heartbreaking to see this divide and the still very deep wounds from the war up close and in person. I can only hope for peace for both Kosovo and Serbia.
