One trick I learned is instead of using the seam connectors, simply overlap the two gutter sections by six inches or so and screw together. Creates a much stronger and less likely to leak joint.

What a great video. No stupid intro, no stupid back ground music. Right to the point with clearly explaining every step of the way. A job well done sir, thank you. I don't skip commercial on videos like yours.

Thanks!! I bought a new house & I didn't want to pay anyone to do this on one side of my house. So i did it myself. This helped alot

Always impresses me when someone is brave enough to put their head on the chopping block, by posting how-to videos, lots of great info in the video and lots of great insight in the comments. Thank you HouseBarons for taking the time and effort to make and post this video. I found it concise and helpful.

Just purchased my first home, and unfortunately it is gutterless. This is the first video I've watched to research installation, and I feel you really helped me to understand what's necessary for installation! Thank you!

This is why if you can, always go seamless, a local company most of the time will come out and do a cut and drop that way you can install and save some money but ultimately this is a pretty good video on installing section gutter using expansion joints always use a level and if the back of gutter falls below the drip you will need to extend the drip, if you can save the time and buy end cap crimps you won't regret it

Thank you for not only explaining but actually showing putting brackets in. I've had leaks & finally realized it must of been end of day as they install every 3rd bracket to home!

Thank you for sharing your video!! I'm a single senior citizen female homeowner who is in need of new gutters and eves. Unfortunately, my house has started to deteriorate over the years. I have no family to help and your video is giving me the courage to attempt this project. I thank you and God Bless You!!

1/8" slope @ 10' min, 1/4" is max @ 10'. A 40' gutter run @ your 1/2" slope would have your gutter moving water very quickly to the down spout end and potentially have a overflow issue during downpours. Roof line may look whanky also.

Thanks so much for making this video! Clear and concise for a gutter novice like me. You answered all my Q’s on what to do. You’ve made my project today a piece of cake👍

I can't believe how many people actually took time out of their day to comment negatively or puff out their chest like they're more knowledgeable. Come on, this is an instructional video for a beginner DIY'er and this video is an exceptional tool for that purpose. You want seamless gutters? Then pay someone a boat load of money to have seamless installed. That's not what this video is for.
Great video guys!

Seriously what a great video. Easy to understand. Great speed (not super slow not super fast that need to keep rewinding). Straight to the point with products in description! Awesome!

This video has been popping up in my recommended videos for a year now. I finally clicked on it, and listed below are my findings and best recommendations.

1/4" per 10' is the standard, not 1/2". That will change depending on whether or not the house is level. Also, Hardware store gutters are ultra thin and inadequate for residential gutters unless you install hangers as tight as 16" o.c. Your better off calling a local gutter contractor and buying your material from them. Not only will you get seamless gutters and all the necessary parts, you'll get a free tutorial on how to install them. Although I have a lot of respect for this guy, he's is trying to show you how to intall gutters with absolutely no experience, other than what he learning as he is teaching you.

One problem is that the roofers did not install a drip edge all the way to the corner between the brown and white sides of the house. The drip edge that is there is about 1"; probably does not meet code thus shingles should run longer and you should slide an apron piece under the existing drip edge and into gutter rearside with to keep the water from running back behind the gutter

I use white aluminum 1/8” rivets and I lap 4” of gutter with four sealant bead tracks and rivet them together with four rivets in back and two on the front top lip... super strong and will never ever leak

Good deal. I've never done gutters but I need two add them to both sides of my house now that I changed the landscape. I do pretty much all my own work and have almost every tool imaginable. I had planned to pay someone, but after watching your video, this looks quite easy. I wouldn't want to have to do my entire house, but two sides I'm going to now tackle. Thanks !!!!

I tried using the joiners between pieces and had leaks. On another side of the house, I literally overlapped one length inside another length using adhesive and no leaks. The overlap was about 6”. With the couplers, I had to seal the inside with adhesive to stop those leaks.
