The best part about this ending is that now he is laughing because he wants to. Not because of his condition.

A movie called joker ends with the line "you wouldn't get it"

I think this scene symbolizes that we should stop feeling sorry for him. He's embraced what he is.

It’s all fun and games til you realize that your girlfriend isn’t real

The joker needs such a ridiculously good actor to play him, and so far i feel only Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix have been able to do it.

“Some people get their kicks stomping on a dream”. This song is so fitting in so many ways for this last scene it’s uncanny

I swear to God, don’t give us a sequel. This ending is fantastic and if this is the last time we see Arthur, I’ll be so happy.

This is a true piece of art.
The expressions of the actor, the framing, che music, the meaning. All the elements of this scene are perfectly in Harmony.
I feel like in heaven looking at this.

When he says, “you wouldn’t get it.” You know he’s crossed the line, he now knows society doesn’t understand him and there is no point in trying anymore. He laughs because it’s their fault but they don’t know it, and their ignorance gives him a little satisfaction, like maybe they’re the crazy ones.

Between his acting, the writing, and cinematography.... this is really just hands down one of the best movies of all time. The irony in this is, he finally was ‘given help’ once it was too late. I feel like the Joker laughing has turned into a symbol of laughing at the worlds irony. Laughing at the fact that everyone claims they want to help, but they don’t until it’s too late. The shift from his perspective of trying to fit in, trying to get peoples acceptance, going from that place of insecurity to “you wouldnt get it.” The acceptance of self and embracing of not only his flaws, but of his demons. Wow. Heavy stuff.

i will never forget the amount of “fear” i felt in this ending scene (i wasn’t pissing my pants of course, it was just shockingly scary for a movie). it was disturbing to hear the laugh finally come out, not because it was the ending laugh, but because the laugh was genuine, not some forced laugh to try and hide his frustration or sadness, or because of the condition. he really realized that his life was quite literally a comedy until that point, when he realized that he would never get the help he needed. they absolutely nailed it and that’s why this movie will forever stay in my top 5 favorite movies of all time.

He killed the therapist by stomping on her head probably non-stop thus the blood on the footsteps he makes.

The shot of young Bruce as a foreshadowing as we know what’s coming, the genius of this scene is unbelievable.

Joker is a testament to human madness, to the power of one mans mind. It’s an effigy to morality and what morality means.
