How to add RAM to a Lenovo Ideapad 3 laptop computer

This video shows you how to add RAM memory to a Lenovo ideapad 3 laptop computer. To remove the back of the computer, you need to remove 10 screws, and then break the cover loose by sliding your credit card in between it and the keyboard. Once you’ve removed will cover, you will find the RAM memory slot, and you can put new memory into it. Ive been doing hardware work for a long time, I recommend that before you install new RAM remove the battery, As it can have some energy stored which can fuck up your RAM.

I was terrified of breaking something if I tried to install another RAM stick to improve performance in my Ideapad 3 model ( it can dual-channel and just the basic installed software takes 55% of the 8GB RAM avaliable ).

And it just clips itself in place. The scariest part is opening it.

Don't forget to unplug and turn the laptop off ( not just sleep mode ) before opening it.

Can you see who is ram manufacturer, model of the ram, like samsung, kingston etc. I need to know that because Iam getting my ideapad 3 i5 1155g7 in couple of days and need to order ram for it, but it has to be the same ram that comes in that laptop so that I can use dual channel on it for better game quality. is there any precaution protocol that i should be doing as far as making sure power is off? I know with most things you want there to be no power whatsoever in tech while working on it but not exactly sure how to make sure power is completely off on my lenovo. feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

Good day, sir! My Lenovo Ideapad l3's maximum capacity for memory/RAM is 16gb and I just want to ask, what would happen if I put a memory exceeding the maximum capacity? Because my laptop already has 4gb of ram and I just bought a 16gb ram and I was wondering if I could just put the 16gb on the extra slot or should I remove the 4gb before putting in the 16gb of ram?
