This video has an audio issue with the voiceover only on one stereo channel - for a fixed version, check out this link;

In today's video I'm going to be unboxing all the original tooled F-35 kits available in 1/72nd scale head-to-head to see which is the best, and which you should avoid. Over the coming week or so I'll also be uploading full unboxings on each kit so you can have a deeper look - so make sure you're subscribed to get notified when they come out.

Which of the toolings do you think comes out on top, and why?

I can see that this is a costly and time consuming approach, but it works really well and I don't see much around like it. I vote for more!

First rate!! Great that the Airfix starter kit actually rates so well. I would translate that into being most likely to actually be completed, which is great for a starter kit.
Terrific comparison. Note: Right channel sound was screwed up.

The voice is panned all the way left for some reason. Thanks for an interesting video.

Excellent video, thanks. I'm glad you call out the presence or absence of a pilot figure; as someone who prefers to build "in flight", I get tired of having to chase down after-market pilots. And while stands are not as important (I tend to make my own), it would be nice if reviews could call out things like open and closed gear and weapons bay doors, too.

This is a really REALLY good video man. I wish we could have this sort of content for more model kits with different variants so people could choose what best fits them, instead of finding bad surprises from time to time.

Excellent and comprehensive comparison, having built the Italeri F35B, I was disappointed and intended buying the Academy. This video only cements that.

My only thoughts are that the Airfix starter set can't really be considered a proper F35B kit, anyone who builds it expecting a result to the same complexity as the others would be disappointed. But I get why you've included it.

Thank you for an excellent video. Going into this, I was leaning towards the Italeri/Tamiya F-35b. At video’s end I shifted strongly towards the Academy B model. Saving me a few bucks, perhapsI should donate to this channel? I will watch you other videos and decide.

An excellent and expensive video! Now if you could do this in 1/48 for a variety of subjects...

I bought the Academy F-35A based on this video 😊

The Airfix kit looks great, too.

Excellent and informative video, thanks. I think the Airfix as a starter set is great value for money and produces a decent result.
One question. I'm pretty sure this aircraft has a brownish tinted canopy, do any of these kits have that?

I'm mostly interested in navy planes so it is a little bit a shame that we have only one kit on market covering C version.

On the pricing, unfortunately the Airfix have become overpriced where I am in Atlantic Canada due to shipping costs from the UK. Ironically it's cheaper to get stuff from Japan and Korea...

I just recently found you channel and I really liked it, have you ever considered doing a video on bandai kits, specifically Gundam kits? They are really beginner friendly and Id like to see what someone with you skills can do with one of them

Fantastic comparison video, this will really be useful to lots of modellers.
I'll be steering anyone I hear trying to choose which kit to get, to this video.

Waiting for the Tamiya in-house 1/72 F-35A

I have the Tamiya boxing of the Italeri get a pilot, Tamiya style instructions and decals with all the RAM tape. Same price here in NZ as Italeri too. A light sanding should take care of the raised the 1/48 uber kit has too!

Excellent comparison format which could only be bettered if you actually built all of them. Well done!
