The mark VIII Supermarine Spitfire is not as well known as some of the other, more famous variants of the aircraft. Despite being considered a developmental leap in the evolution of the Spitfire, it did not see as much service compared to other, more easier to construct variants.

Join me in this video as I build and review the Eduard profipack Supermarine Spitfire Mk. VIII plastic model kit in 1/72 scale, a model that may well be my best build yet!

Special thanks to Ed from @EdNashsMilitaryMatters for collaborating with me on this particular project, providing the history segment. Connect with Ed and see more of his awesome military history videos on his channel here:

Why not just use a toothpick to apply the super glue? :)

Just a tip. If you want to gain even more realistic chipping effect you Can airbrush the areas you want to chip with a metallic colour. Then you airbrush some chipping solution forexample vallejo chipping medium, and then paint the Camo scheme over it. When you want to apply the chipping you just take a wet toothpick and scratch the areas. Nice video 👍

Great build, best I have seen you do and I love the weathering!
Your enthusiasm at the unboxing has resulted in me ordering from Edouard and yup they are great value and their shipping from Europe is good. Not arrived yet so I shall see……
Most folk I have seen using sups glue do a drop on some cardboard and then a cut to a point piece of box card to apply.
Thanks

For the PE maybe use a toothpick to apply it. I used PE for the first time and used that technique. Loved the video.

I must say i own like 30 eduard kits and they are CHEAP well atleast here in Czech republic where you can get 1/72 profipack from 10-15 pounds and 1/48 from 15 up to 30 pounds for profipack

It is an impressive model to be 1:72, at first I said 1:48 !!!, but the work done on it makes it even more, excellent congratulations and thanks for being part of this, which for me is a learning curve .

Very nice build, you also mensioned that you like building more rare/forgotten planes. Therefore I made a small list of the rarest planes I know of.

Dh 90 dragonfly (trp3) only one swedish one was made but good luck finding a kit for that.

Saab 210 lilldraken also only 1 was made because it was a prototype.

Saab 201/202, a saab safir with different wings for testning. Only one was made.

FFVS J22, 198 were made but most people still have never heard of them (except for warthunder players.)

Saab 18, 245 were made but they seem to not be as well documented as most aircraft and there is only one survining example and that one was pulled from the bottom of a lake.

P1/S1a sparmamn also known as sparmannjagaren, 11 were made.

Very nice build. Unfortunately the days of me being able to build 1/72 (and im thinking 1/48 also) are over and I will just have to settle on viewing well done kits on a big screen. Keep up the good work. Stu NZ

You don't need to buy a special '"moddelers super glue" (way to expensive). Instead use a cocktailstick or toothpick to dab a tiny amount of glue in places you need it.

Wow that spitfire looks awesome! Great video, it has inspired me to finish my Airfix phantom that I started a few months ago. I definitely have to try an eduard kit now!

This is the first video of yours that I have watched, and I am very impressed. First, I didn't realize at first that this was a 1/72nd scale model. The detail and quality of the build is outstanding for such a small scale. Second, the detail of your build description, videography, etc. is also outstanding. Finally, I loved the inclusion of the history. Again, I am very impressed. Cheers, from the US.
