This is possibly the first time the rice pudding quote was taken seriously.

14:48 "It's just a damp locomotive now"
Me, a German speaker: It is a damp locomotive from the beginning!
Edit: "Dampflokomotive" is German for steam locomotive

Very true! Model trains are supposed to be fun. The skin of the rice pudding was hilarious, another word for fun.

Here in New Zealand we once had real-life steam locos (one class of two locos) that according to one driver couldn't "pull the skin off a rice pudding". They were built in the US in 1878 and had 11" diameter cylinders.

How long can a model train survive in natural conditions? Now that’s a good idea!

How to fly a model train:
Step 1: cover it in oil
Step 2: wait for it to rain
Step 3: fly

Sam, I just loved the rice pudding, well thought out experiment and really did pull the skin off the rice pudding; might be a better measure for locos, than the spring balance dynamometer, of usual use
