I grew up in Wisconsin, and in the winter when you go outside in -30º F subzero weather, if your forehead is not covered up, you will get brain freeze.

My theory is that as cold substance travels down you esophagus it cools your jugular, which supplies blood to your brain

I used to think brain-freeze-pain was God's unfriendly way of telling you to stop being so freaking greedy and indulgent with your food.
