I think that it is important to explain from where the derivative is coming from. Your explanation is clear but not that complete. And it is important to make people understand the WHY. The thing is that for example ln(x^4) is the derivative of the compound. Which means that it obeys at the law of: (f(g(x)))'=f'(g(x))g'(x). And that is WHY we have to apply the equation in that way. f(x)= lnx so f'(x)=1/x and g(x)=x^4 and g'(x)=4x. All you have to do next is to replace the values in the formula.

In the first problem for y=ln(3x), you could have also done using properties of logarithms before taking the derivative as y=ln(3)+ln(x). The derivative is the same as from before, which is y’=1/x.

What's the plural of Jesus? I've seen so many of them on YouTube and they've helped me a lot. I have my IGCSE exam in a few hours and this was very helpful.

A very good video-you get a compliment from me (A later in life mathlete). One small nitpick though-i think it would have helped some of your less experienced viewers if you had mentioned once or twice that in your examples the natural log function is the "outside" function for chain rule purposes
